My cousins and I tried Anvio VR Detroit for the first time yesterday! We had so much FUN! Highly recommend!! The graphics and scenes felt so real that some of us had to remember we weren't going to actually fall off a building! BOOK NOW! You won't regret it! The staff was very friendly, knowledgeable and patient as some of us were delayed by construction nearby. We had a group of 5 and played City Z one of the zombie games! It's part 1 of a 3-part game series so we plan to return to finish our mission! Trul
This was awesome! Perfect way to spend time with friends. We popped in without an appointment. The host was very knowledgeable and helpful. The place is super clean and has a game waiting area with lots of activities to play while you wait for your turn. Once the sessions starts, you are in for a real treat with action-packed, fun VR games. Fantastic spot, highly recommend! PS: Don't fret if you get put with another group. It's way more fun that way, actually!
So fun - what a great experience - we didn't have an appointment, but they have a great ?holding room? - something fun to do in Detroit, center of Greektown? awesome for teens!
I had a horrible experience. I booked a reservation for 5:00pm for my boyfriend and myself. We get to the location to be told we have to wait 45 minutes because they had a walk in group. Crazy that walk-ins take precedence over paid appointments, which should have been the first red flag to leave. An hour later we finally go the opportunity to play but during the instructions my virtual reality headset indicated low battery which I told the attendant immediately. She can over and looked at it and said
Me and my boyfriend recently went to Anvio VR for Valentine?s Day weekend and we had a blast. Terrence was super helpful and friendly and the zombie game was so much fun. I would definitely recommend this for a date or friend outing. And the price was very reasonable!
Me and my fianc? had so much fun here! The staff was also so nice and welcoming! I would recommend everyone coming here at least once! I will DEFINITELY be coming back.
So fun ?????? didn't know if this was something I was into when a friend suggested we go. IM SO GLAD I WENT. Can't wait to go back, Tori was nice and made us feel welcomed? OH AND THEY BLACK OWNED ??????????
Hospitality was great and the VR was even better! Will be back without a doubt ????
Tori was amazing and the games were fun
It’s a mix of nostalgia and high-energy fun! Many arcades blend retro classics like Pac-Man and pinball with modern VR games, racing simulators, and rhythm challenges — often with music, lights, and a social vibe.
Both can be great! Solo visits let you focus on your favorite games, while going with friends adds competition, teamwork, and laughs. Many people plan arcade meetups as a casual hangout or even date spot.
Usually just yourself and a way to pay (some arcades still use coins, others use cards or apps). If you're competitive, bring your A-game. If you're social, bring friends or meet new ones over multiplayer games.
Weekdays or early afternoons are usually less crowded — perfect for focused play. Evenings and weekends bring the buzz, especially at barcades or venues with DJs, tournaments, or themed nights.
Absolutely! Arcades attract a mix of casual players and serious gamers. Whether you're jumping into a four-player co-op or chatting between rounds, it's a fun, low-pressure way to connect over shared interests.
Not at all. While many arcades are family-friendly, there are also adult-oriented ones with full bars, 18+ nights, or vintage nostalgia themes. Arcades today cater to everyone — from first-timers to lifelong gamers.
Yes! Many arcades host regular competitions, retro nights, cosplay parties, and more. Whether you're into high scores or just want to watch and vibe, events add an extra layer to the experience.
No worries — arcades are about having fun, not being perfect. Try a variety of games, ask others for tips, and remember: the vibe is more “let’s play” than “let’s win.”
Yes, virtual reality (VR) games in arcades are a top attraction in 2025! Titles like Beat Saber and Half-Life: Alyx deliver immersive thrills with cutting-edge headsets, motion tracking, and responsive controllers. High-resolution displays and spatial audio create heart-pounding experiences, from slashing rhythms to battling zombies. Arcades feature multiplayer VR zones and tournaments, fostering lively communities. VR booths are regularly packed, proving their captivating, next-level gameplay makes them a must-try arcade experience.
