I don't usually leave reviews but I would be remiss not to speak up about Mady who works in the bar. She is simply awesome. She is friendly and customer oriented. She has a great personality and is always helpful.. I have managed a retail grocery store for 35 years and I know top notch service when I see it. Two thumbs up for Mady!!!!!

I brought my family of 5 to star lanes and I want to shout out Angel, Toni, Michael, Chloe, Kevin, and Jess. I want to say Michael was excellent and grade A service from them all. My kids had so much fun that they are crying to come back. Thank you star lanes for your excellent service and making my kids experience wonderful. I will definitely recommend this bowling alley to anyone especially families with little ones. They had so much fun with the arcade games as well. All around 5 stars ??

Outrageous prices. Balls terribly pitted, and lanes warped. When pins were racked they continuously fell. Kids roller racks were broken and warped. Staff didn't seem to care about any issues. Terrible experience wouldn't recommend

Can't bring your own water bottle in, nor will they give you a cup of water?. Instead you have to buy a $3.20 plastic bottle of water. On top of this, they had no cold bottles, just hot $3 bottles of plastic

We attended a birthday party. The man providing shoes was very attentive and affable. They checked on our party four times (spaced out during the two hours) to see how we were doing. It was a Friday late afternoon and there were plenty of lanes available.

If we could give less than 1 star - we would!! Let's start off with EXTREMELY rude employees! I asked if they offer 1st responders discount and was greeted with a loud laugh & then told " HELL NO - WE DON'T DO THAT HERE" We then after 30 minutes decided to order 5 sodas & waters & was told there were no cold water only warm water bottles. I have bowled at AMF Star lanes since 2014 and I have to say how much improvement there has been since Chloe became GM. They have come a long way as far as lane breakdowns. We very rarely have lanes down. Like any machine it will happen from time to time. And head mechanic Ronnie has done a great job in keeping the lanes in good shape. All of Chloe's staff are so awesome. They are one big happy family which is the way it should be. They all work very hard.

This has to be one of my favorite places to be in my free time. The GM Ian is the greatest. Shawn and Ian both know their stuff when it comes to bowling and Ronnie is so sweet. This place is my home away from home. I have made some really great memories here!

Overall, it was good, albeit a bit pricey, but what isn't these days. While we expected it to be loud from balls dropping and pins falling, it still seemed incredibly noisy. Music was loud, and the videos were very inappropriate. After seeing one to many overt sexual scenes on TV across the entire width of the building, even one of the preteen kiddos asked questions about what they were playing. lol what an absolute joke. Skip it and go literally anywhere else. Negative experience from start to finish for every member of our group. Not a single staff member was pleasant or accommodating. Everything was dirty and severely overpriced.

Star Lanes is a good choice for families looking for a fun indoor activity on a rainy day. It is well maintained, and the food is what you would expect from a concession stand. While the bowling balls could be upgraded, the overall experience is positive. We had a great time playing three games; the cost, including shoe rentals for four people, was around $100.

Me and my boyfriend love to bowl here and we actually prefer this one over Sky Lanes BUT AMF has the RUDEST STAFF! Even the bartender was rude.. We went twice in the past two weeks and had some issues with the mechanics. Something with the pins needed resetting and the staff had awful attitudes and didn't seem to care. Like.. we paid $50 just to have fun and you act like we were in the wrong. Don't like your job? Find a new one. Might be going back to Sky Lanes after all. Least they're respectful there.

I love coming to AMF. Chloe, the GM, is always willing to answer any questions that come about. The whole staff is knowledgeable, friendly, and always willing to help. Definitely a great experience!

Best bowling alley on earth. Came in from out of town for a bachelor vacation, they were closed, renovating. Took a chance talked to the staff, let us bowl while they rebuilt they place. We went bowling today at The Star Lanes, for 2 people and it was terrible! The place was packed and chaotic. After the 3 games the machine dented and scratched our bowling ball on lane 13. Lastly Pins kept falling over in between games. We will not be coming anytime soon!!!!! (We tried to talk to the people at the front desk and they did care, they did not say sorry or even try to compensate for the issue)

We had a great time with the kids, the new manager was so kind and helpful and made sure our kids hqd everything they needed to have fun. We will definitely be back

I took my 4 year old after school today as the parks were too wet. She loved it and the man who helped us at the counter was so great! I hadn't bowled in years so I wasn't sure about several things, and he was kind and thoughtful. Outrageous and unacceptable. Walked in at 9pm and asked for 1 lane 1 game 4 adults. Keep in mind, this was requested loud and CLEAR. Jessica, apparently the manager here, charged us $76 WITHOUT informing us that after 7pm, apparently they only offer unlimited bowling? Finished our 1 game that we originally thought we were being charged for, went to the front desk and asked why I was charged $76 for 4 people, 1 game. Was told by Jessica, that she informed us that after 7pm they only offer unlimited bowling.

We were able to get a big group of our band kids in for a holiday party at the last minute. The staff was very accommodating and helpful. The kids had a great time bowling and playing games!

Just had a 50th birthday celebration. 36 people- We had a fantastic time. Staff went above and beyond to provide us with the lanes I specifically requested. Only suggestion is to add an extra bar server to help with an adult event. We did have a great time and will do it again!!

I had so much fun on my girl date with my friend! We had the cauliflower "wings" with the Buffalo sauce and they were great. I can't wait to come back!

12-7-24 booked a bday party for my 20 year old. 8 bowling on 2 lanes side by side and parents got their own lane (paid separate from the bday package) next to them. The package included 2 hours of bowling, 2 entrees, tater tots and unlimited drink refills. U can imagine how much these teens could eat and drink so we ran the staffs butt's off??. I love coming here every Tuesday with my bowling league! The management and employees are always super helpful and sweet!

If I could give this place zero stars, I would. Don't bring your own bowling balls here. Brand new ball, not even a month old and now damaged from their ball return and they said "Well that's the part of the personal risk in bowling, sorry our mechanic doesn't know what he's doing". I'll never spend another dollar here.

They have a great summer pass deal. Everything is always clean, and staff are friendly. HUGE shout out to the guys at the pro shop! They went above and beyond in helping my husband and I pick out our first balls. They spent a good amount of time giving us tips, being friendly, and they're just amazing. They even came down to the lane to watch us bowl and gave us advice. If you need help with your game, I recommend them!

My experience was a pleasant surprise on a busy Saturday night. The staff were on top of things and I felt very respected throughout the check-in process. I have to give a huge shout out to Brandon for being a great host and for our waitress. Those two really made me feel welcomed and my time there more enjoyable.

We celebrated my daughter?s 6th birthday here and it couldn't have been a better experience. The kids all had a blast and for many it was their first time bowling. The place was clean and modern with equipment that worked well. The service was amazing and attentive. We got a package with pizza and the food was actually pretty good. Would definitely recommend for a kid?s party and we're also looking forward to going back for an adult night out.

Score board didn't work. Need to get new house balls, the kid guide to help kids was broken and bent. You'd think for the money that was spent things would be better. The arcade was expensive. The prices are ridiculous they don't tell you their prices change after certain hours and that it's per person. We were from out of town and when we got their they said it was per game not per person per game. Then one lady wanted to get an attitude yea shut her up real quick with her lies. Long wait. Ended up hanging out in the parking lot. I used the facilities in the place and it was clean though. Probably just need to go on a day when its less crowded.

The place is a disaster and hard to get a lane. They ran a promotion advertising a discount on Sunday, so we got a group of friends and headed over to take advantage. They also had a bowling league and event the same night so they didn't even have any lanes! Didn't make any sense and everyone had to leave. Major disappointment. Luckily there are a million other great things to do in Asheville and that's what we did.

Clean inside. Food is mediocre and expensive. Arcade requires you to load money onto a proprietary card, but I guess that at least means the arcade is never busy. Just your usual corporate owned, middling, forgettable experience. If you plan on having an alcoholic drink, do yourself a favor and do it somewhere else first. Do you like being nickle and dimed? I bowl in a league here. I go all the time by far my favorite place. Recently, I had my sons birthday party here. They have the best prices in town. The food was great. Zac and the rest of the staff went above and beyond their duties to ensure we had everything thing we needed. Highly recommend this place.

Best bowling in the tri County! Hands down, no arguing.... they are the best. Even when waiting on busy nights the wait was 30 minutes, so we played in the arcade. We had so muchfun! The staff here and especially the manager, Ian, really go out of there way to provide excellent customer service and make you feel welcome. The quality of good and beer as well as style and look of AMF is leaps and bounds above the west asheville bowling option. We drive 20 minutes further just to bowl here. It's becoming our favorite place. Highly recommend!

Play in a league but practice at AMF at least once a week. Ian the manager keeps it all together. The rest of the front desk staff is also super helpful. They are pretty full during the week with league play but weekends are opened now although there might be a wait.

This particular bowling alley was the cleanest and most positive experience I've had. My cousin had a wedding party here and the staff were wonderful, the service and catering was A++ - The food was just fantastic! Hand blowers on ball returns do not work. Floor hasn't been dry-mopped in ages so lots of dust and lint on the floors. There is always at least 1 pair of lanes broken down and unusable. But the best thing ever was the night during league play they turned off our pair of lanes before we had even finished the 8th frame. And then they were incapable of recapturing the scores. If you're gonna go, do it when they aren't busy. They've renovated in the worst way possible. Traditional seats are gone, replaced with too big, too close togther rectangular tables with four chairs each. So tight it's impossble not to literally rub elbows with the people at the lane beside yours. Worse, none of the furniture fits where it should, so everything and everyone is crammed up against the ball racks, making it difficult to find a ball without having to excuse yourself past multiple people.
