Reviews Summary

The reviews present a mixed consensus. Many praise the friendly staff, clean environment, and enjoyable atmosphere, with several highlighting exceptional service. However, frequent complaints mention high prices for food, drinks, and bowling, with some feeling rushed or misled about costs. A few negative experiences cite poor management, long wait times, or technical issues with lanes. While families and casual bowlers often enjoy their visits, pricing remains a significant drawback for many.

Customer Reviews

We were rushed getting a lane and our shoes and the packages weren't explained or communicated; we said timed bowling. When we finished, because we didn't do the unlimited, we were told it's per person per game. NOT the timed rates we asked for that is advertised on the website. We played just under 90 minutes and paid over three times the amount per person in the end ($100.63 for 3 people) Quick set up and ball return for bowling, and the fries are tasty. They were nice but did not listen to our explanati

They offer a summer pass, however, they do not open until 2 pm. Day is 3/4 over for babysitting time. Need to open much earlier to actually be effective for summer hours and use of a summer pass.

$20 unlimited bowling was great. It did take 20 minutes for a drink and a little over an hour for a pizza. Customer service was great though. We had a ball stuck in the gutter at one point and only took a couple of minutes for staff to fix our problem!!

Had my son?s birthday party Sunday evening and the three guys working absolutely rocked it! There were about five kids parties and only 3 guys working and they did the dang thing. They were polite and as quick as they could be even though they were swamped. Would definitely have another party there for sure.

When I got my shoes and Lane rental the cashier took it upon himself who was also the manager to give himself a $10 tip. I am in the tipping industry and I do tip well, but I do not tip anyone for renting me bowling shoes!! He took it upon himself to check the receipt that I did not put an x through. So make sure you're putting your ex through the tipping section or they will take it upon yourself to tip theirselves off your card! I only got to bowl One game because the lanes kept messing up and he messed u

My Husband and I went for a midday date and this was the BEST experience we have had here. Booked online so check in was a breeze and Anthony was just a delight. The customer service was absolutely fantastic, the alleys were clean and well lit. Accidentally slipped a drink and Anthony was on top of it with a smile and a refill. Thank you for a great time! We will absolutely be back soon.

I was very unsatisfied by tonight. It was a disaster. Where is latecia at?? Unless she's there I don't want to return. Place isn't right without her! The cook was the only nice interaction I have. She always made it great when me and the kiddos went, very disappointed won't be back !

Had a joint birthday for 5 people and had it planned for weeks. 2 hours into our 4 hours of bowling, the manager decides to close the bar even tho the place was packed. We asked for a refund of 1/2 what we paid ($300 between 5 couples). Manager said no and then refused to speak to anyone in our group. Had to make a complaint with corporate and are awaiting a response. Left after only 2 games so we could continue to enjoy our birthdays

This place was lit. Definitely would be back good vibes and great music!! Stayed until midnight when the place closed. Staff were great we loved it!

Everyone was so king. The tornado sirens went off and we had to go into the arcade until an all clear was given they gave out cards to play games for free everyone was very patient and we had a very good time

If you bring your own ball they like to try and steal it

Great place for having fun. Also, it's a great place for hosting parties and other events.

Wonderful staff! Very clean and welcoming environment

i love coming here. it's clean and comfortable, but the best part is the customer service. specifically rod, he continually goes above and me and my friends. we came in and had great conversation and games with him. at the end of the night he gave us a free game on him just because. it doesn't get much better than rod. he is the example of great customer service??

This is a great place for birthday parties and weekend entertainment activities. Packages are available for purchase.

It was packed I didn't get to bowl because of the time I came out but I ate and played the games .. spent time with my daughter

Enjoyed another night at Strike & Spare! I was happy to see it busy but even so, there were no lines, the service was great, and the kids had a wonderful time! Its apparent that customer service is a top priority and we look forward to more bowling soon.

It a little bit too expensive if you ask me. It cost us $11 per person to bowl one game. Family fun night just got $$$$ We where trying to find a cheap way to spend a couple hours with a group of friends and all our kids Place was dead assuming the high cost is why.

It was super fun. The atmosphere was good.

My husband and I came to AMF to play pool and have some drinks. Leticia took great care of us. Such a kind positive attitude and very polite and friendly. Make sure you ask for her and you'll get treated very nice !

Great staff and service!! Everything was top notch and staff were attentive to our every need!!!

The staff was great. The place was hot, the air conditioning was not keeping up. The lanes we were on had 3 issues in 2 games. I would go back when it's cooler out.

Really enjoyed my visit here. Paid $15.75 for shoes and 2 games of bowling. The bowling alley was very clean and maintained. The rental shoes were newer- not scary old like most places.

Hosted my 7 year olds birthday party here on a Saturday night. They knew of my reservation and they got me set up immediately. They got drinks and lanes ready while I was decorating. He got with me quickly to correlate food times and checked back consistently to make sure we were doing OK. The food came out right on time and the service was great. I wanted to do the ice cream bar for the kids earlier than usual and it was no problem, they brought it right out. I was worried they would be super busy and my

It wasn't that busy at all, but we had to wait so long to exchange shoes. Only one guy on the register. There were other workers, including one leaning on the counter by the shoes, but it seems only the guy on the register can help with shoes? Otherwise, pricing was very fair.

Our family has had a great time here on a few occasions. Management and staff are friendly and really want you to enjoy yourselves. Love that you can just bowl for 2 or 2.5 hours and pay a flat rate for that and shoes.

I was a guest of a party recently and was very satisfied with everything. Latecia was great. She helped us with everything... All while being in a wheelchair. The manager was from out of town and he was very accommodating as well.

Had a blast with friends and family! Great place to go bowling. Also great service from the staff . Definitely coming back to bowl again!

Overpriced shoe rental but the lanes are nice

They are definitely ripping people off with their prices. Separately charge per person for each game bowled. We bowled 3 games & rented shoes & it was well over a $100 for me, my boyfriend & the kiddo. The food wasn't anything special, our adult beverages weren't very strong & our games kept on getting interrupted due to the ball return malfunctioning. No discount for any inconveniences. We will save our money & go elsewhere in the future. Very unfortunate experience. The end result was a $200 trip for a fe

We had an ok time couple things that made us felt not at home but on the racist type they put us away at the end from everyone also when we sit to play the lane started messing up after first bowl then we had to wait 15 min for someone to come fix a stuck bowling pin then had our family bowling in the dark we literally had to ask to turn our lights on then they even told us the lights don't work where we was bowling look there's more to this but I'ma end it here moral of story not a place if your black to m

The house is pretty good. I didn't interact with staff. If you're low vision, it's dimly lit. My one complaint is the price of the refreshments. It's too high and they add a service charge on top of it! Never heard of such a thing! Won't be doing that again!

Clean environment, friendly staff, and fairly priced. My little guy had a blast for his first time bowling.

The staff was very nice. The cook and bartender were really outgoing and fun. The guy at the front desk was nice about explaining prices to our large group. I will definitely be back.

This is a nice bowling alley but it's extremely overpriced. The atmosphere can change along with the lighting and music. Establishment seemed clean and the employee at the desk was helpful. Overall it's a nice place to visit every once in a while. If you're looking to bowl frequently, try another alley unless you're made of money.

Come up from Florida to visit my kids and took them here. I was very pleased. The Staff was amazing and the place was very nice. We had a great time. Would definitely go back. Thank you Strike ?N Spare for the opportunity to be able to bowl at your location.

We had a great time. It was clean, staff was very helpful! Looking forward to going again

Food is not only expensive, but the added service fee is a bit of a put off. It's good for the smallish portions. The drinks are highly over priced. 5 beers, a mixed drink 2 iced teas and a Pepsi was $79. A bit of a shock and a bit much

LATECIA HAD GREAT CUSTOMER SERVICE!! Definitely What's Missing In The Business Industry, We Love You Girl?? Issa Natural ????????

Management was very rude when a friend reported her wallet was stolen. They refused to show their video footage which makes me suspicious of them and their practice. Separately, I ordered an alcoholic beverage that was clearly over-poured and made me lose my appetite. Do better.

This has been the second birthday party we have booked at strike 'n spare. Booking parties is a smooth stress free process and the people I speak with when booking the party are wonderful. The day of the party was chaotic as the party next to us had twice the amount of guests than they expected. Kimberly at the desk handled the chaos like a rock star, seeing to every party's and other guests needs seemingly by herself. She never lost her smile or sense of humor. She truly impressed myself and the parents at

My plans changed for my sons birthday. So he wanted to go bowling well to do a party you had to have a 2 day notice. We did open bowling the manager Rod and his staff took wonderful care of us with great service. And my son had a great birthday with his friends.

Very wonderful service, me and my family had a wonderful time and we'll be back for more !!! A place you tell your friends about

Way overpriced and terrible service. The food was terrible not to mention over $20 for 6 bottles of water that they didn't even give me. Than they don't sanitize balls, seats, or tables. Save yourself money and have a better experience over at king pin. Reply to owner. Or you could just not way overcharge. For everything and hire decent staff. Than you wouldn't have all the complaints on your reviews. I only with we would have read them first. Not to mention your bogus covid cleaning fees for the nonexiste

I love bringing my kids here,it's always clean and the staff is always friendly and helpful. The best relaxing place to be in the summer!!

Place is an absolute joke. Lanes routinely don't record rolls. Bartender refuses to honor drink tickets. I paid for drink tickets only to be told they're not good after a certain time. Effectively charging my $5 TWICE for two beers. Super expensive. Management doesn't know what they are doing. I had to explain to the guy multiple times how to set up a league style line all 3 times I went there. Place is designed to rip off families and Highschoolers on dates. Don't go here if you actually want to bowl and h

Clean , nice atmosphere, BUT ! Cannot believe how high the prices have become. They offer specials thru the week, ( while everyone is still at work) . Spent $112 this weekend. 2 shoe rentals . Me and my brother bowled 5 games apiece (10 total ) while my 5 yr old grandson rolled what I thought was 4 . Got charged for 16 games . Wasn't too happy about it .

Great service, Had the party platter with wings and OMG Ahmazing flavor and crisp crunch with every bite. Definitely recommend.

Place is very clean and well maintained. Food is a bit pricey but good. Took a while to get it but kinda busy and one person was working. Staff was really attentive for the lanes. They are having a special this summer. It's like $40-$55 per person one time fee and you get 3 games a day May through September. It's pretty amazing deal.

This place is under very poor management. The food was crazy expensive, and the cheapest food management could get, basically, poor quality for high prices. Had the lanes been a little more expensive, my family and I would not have stayed. The house balls make a " thud thud thud" sound for most of the balls we tried. Also, the bartender with the lips tattoo on his neck was nasty. My wife saw him blowing his nose on the floor behind the bar with his bare hands and then made people drinks right after. The onl

We had 15 people and reserved 4 lanes for a 21st birthday and even though they were super busy they did everything to make the night great.

They really showed us a wonderful time everyone was so nice and understanding. Thanks

This is a nice bowling alley and the employees seemed friendly. Unfortunately, we had a bad experience because of the pricing. They advertise unlimited bowling on Wednesdays from 7:00-9:00. When we arrived and asked about it, we were told that it was only after 9:00. When we started bowling, it clearly advertised unlimited bowling on the TV screen for Wednesdays from 7:00-9:00. When I asked at the front desk, the attendant told me he mixed it up and thought it was Friday. He said he would ask the manager to

Great prices, fun, drinks, and food. Emmanuel is the best manager at the alley. He makes you feel welcome and does well to encourage a good time. Everyone is pretty friendly.

Arthur has good customer service definitely made my experiences very fun would love to come back !!!

Had a party event at the Springfield IL location. Aaron was a huge help! Great service!

The arcade games here don't work they take your money.. when addressed to a staff member they told me they would fix the issue once they realized they couldn't fix the issue they literally walked away and avoided me when I brought it up to another employee they had no answer for me.. long rant short they did not fix the problem or offer a refund it wasn't like it was alot of money or anything however it was sad to see my son so disappointed along with the other kids and I just don't think that's a friendly

Trisha was awesome and so kind! She had our food out fast and super helpful!

I was glad to see the sign on the door that said masks required and at least while we were waiting in line to pay for our games that seem to be the case but once we got to our lane I noticed that nobody all up and down seemed to be wearing masks. That was disappointing to say the least but on the other hand the area was large and open and they were only using every other lane. Of course I don't know how good the ventilation was but we were wearing our masks (three adults two kids) And we enjoyed ourselves a

I would give zero stars if i could. Had my daughter's party last sunday, i dont recommend this place and never coming back. The staff were rude, we first approached the manager and asked if our food was ready and got yelled at. We understand if theyre short staff but thats not even an excuse to be rude to your customers. Gave us coupons for free bowling but as per checking theyre all expired year 2020. We booked for 14 people and 3 didnt show up, the manager told us to contact booking team because its out o

Great staff, made everything to much better! The owner was present making sure everyone was having a great time. And would 100% reccomend this place to anybody if you want to have a great time to bowl.

Latecia was amazing! Attentive and quick! Will be back for that reason only.

Bowling ally was clean, Rod was very helpful with the information and how everything worked me and my boys will be back fasho and the music was great!!????

I love this bowling alley. I feel like I'm at home when I'm here, they always make it a wonderful time. Everytime I wanna go bowling, I'm coming to see Brandon, Art, Rod????????????

I invited a group of friends who came to the United states to visit... the managers told me that they were not allowed to sell alcohol to them even tho they provided plenty of valid documentation (passports and IDs) from their respective countries... In a diverse global community like ours, this type of treatment is disgraceful and VERY short sighted. Seeing as the place was practically empty, one would expect management to treat customers with decency and respect to encourage them to come back more often

The summer pass is the bomb!

Always love going here since I was a kid now I take my son. It's been years and it's still very nicely maintained. Staff is accommodating and friendly!

We were there for a fundraiser, but we have been there for other, casual evenings. Staff were helpful and things ran smoothly. We weren't serious bowlers, but we had fun. The facility seemed to be in good condition. I can't give an opinion for competitive bowlers, but for the casual bowler, this was a good option.

Amf did they thing was very helpful respectful latecia was such a sweet heart definitely would recommend this place to have a good time.

Arthur makes amazing cookies, has a great personality and made our experience fun!

Manager LaLa was very nice and made sure my drink stayed full. Great job

We loved the black lights and how the pins glowed, but their prices are outrageous!! A medium soda is $4.68. A beer is $4.05. I have never seen a soda cost more than a beer. We had 4 people, 2 of which are small children, played 2 games and it was $63!! Plus the $17 for 4 sodas!!

Really great place! Been coming here ever since I was a kid! My favorite memory was when Christ the King school held a event here!

Amazing customer service was amazing. Every person that was on staff has been absolutely amazing!

I was there for a birthday party for my sweet niece that turned 11. The staff was extremely rude!!!!!!! Expensive night, for such poor service. We won't be going back anytime soon!

I went with some of my friends and it cost us 35$ per person for just the bowling for 6 games. Almost 160$ for 4 people

First time in this place and it was amazing, the manger Rod and his staff took great care of us.

They used to have good deals. For my last visit, they lured me in with $1 bowling, but charged a $5 cover and very high beer prices!!!! Also, I should add that they shut off our lane after the first game and wouldn't turn it back on until we showed the receipt that we already paid for another two games... I haven't been back since that experience. Maybe things have improved. I suggest calling for details before planning your night at the bowling alley.

The building environment is great! Venue management, catering service configuration can not keep up, there is a lot of room for development! Hope the management will pay attention!

Terrible overall experience. We went on a Friday night. They wouldn't let us pay per game, we had to buy a 2 hour block. After 15 minutes my wife and her friend went to use the bathroom, only to find one ladies room locked, and the other closed for "extreme maintenance". When we went to the counter to talk to someone about it, we couldn't find a single employee. 10 minutes later, they would all come out of some back room together. Later we'd get a ball stuck in the gutter, and had the same problem of not b

Called ahead tonight to see if they were swamped or there was a possibility to play, John told me ?wEvE gOt oPeN lAnEs UnTiL 10pM? Thanks John, we wasted our time showing up to a completely packed bowling alley 20 minutes later. We were told they have ?a short wait list? and were given the option to sign a list of 6 families already waiting in line. This was exactly what I tried avoiding and they've got employees like John answering the phone and being vague and misleading

Part of a group of 12 who went bowling last night. Bowling with shoe rental was $21 per person for 2hrs (9-11). It took 30 minutes to get beer from the bar. The bright ceiling lights were turned on at 10:25 and completely ruined the mood. Staff were cleaning and closing up prior to 11. We felt rushed. When we asked if we could finish the game the guys closing up said it was ?time to go?. We only bowled a game and a half. We would have stayed and purchased more beer, but it felt like they did not want our b

This place is so great and such a fun place to hangout! You could come here with family or friends and the employees are all so nice and friendly. Plenty of delicious food, a bar, and an arcade. Absolutely wonderful :)

Great experience with our 3.5 year old! Management was helpful and it looks like the alley is working on a serious remodel, already new flooring and it almost doesn't look like the same place from last year.

I went there on new years with a bunch of friends and on new years you get a bunch of free food and drinks including Cheese pizza, chicken tender basket, chocolate chip cookies, Ceasar salad, and sparking juice. But we got there and we bowled for a while and we didn't get our food yet, and everyone else in front of us did, long story short they forgot about us so I guess its ok because they were really busy ??

Very clean and nice, just kinda loud. Also a bit expensive. $9 for a single draft, $20 a pizza. Just a bit pricey

Lala was so helpful and very nice and John was also helpful! Lala helped very well such a great worker

Frequently Asked Questions

What’s it like visiting an arcade today?

It’s a mix of nostalgia and high-energy fun! Many arcades blend retro classics like Pac-Man and pinball with modern VR games, racing simulators, and rhythm challenges — often with music, lights, and a social vibe.

Is it better to go alone or with friends?

Both can be great! Solo visits let you focus on your favorite games, while going with friends adds competition, teamwork, and laughs. Many people plan arcade meetups as a casual hangout or even date spot.

What should I bring to an arcade?

Usually just yourself and a way to pay (some arcades still use coins, others use cards or apps). If you're competitive, bring your A-game. If you're social, bring friends or meet new ones over multiplayer games.

What’s the best time to visit an arcade?

Weekdays or early afternoons are usually less crowded — perfect for focused play. Evenings and weekends bring the buzz, especially at barcades or venues with DJs, tournaments, or themed nights.

Can I meet new people at arcades?

Absolutely! Arcades attract a mix of casual players and serious gamers. Whether you're jumping into a four-player co-op or chatting between rounds, it's a fun, low-pressure way to connect over shared interests.

Are arcades still just for kids?

Not at all. While many arcades are family-friendly, there are also adult-oriented ones with full bars, 18+ nights, or vintage nostalgia themes. Arcades today cater to everyone — from first-timers to lifelong gamers.

Are there events or tournaments I can join?

Yes! Many arcades host regular competitions, retro nights, cosplay parties, and more. Whether you're into high scores or just want to watch and vibe, events add an extra layer to the experience.

What if I’m not great at arcade games?

No worries — arcades are about having fun, not being perfect. Try a variety of games, ask others for tips, and remember: the vibe is more “let’s play” than “let’s win.”

Why are arcade prize games so exciting to play?

Arcade prize games are a thrilling highlight in 2025! Claw machines, skee-ball, and ticket-redemption games like basketball offer a rush of skill and chance, with rewards like plushies, toys, or electronics up for grabs. Modern machines feature vibrant lights, digital scoreboards, and responsive controls, amplifying the fun. The lively arcade atmosphere, with cheering crowds and buzzing energy, makes every win feel epic.
