Came here for the first time it was all kinda pricey $$. Even the drinks at the bar. $19.00 for two drinks plus the bowling, we played three games and there was 3 of us , we didn't do anything special and we were charged $84 he said he gave us half off of 5 games. Someone needs to check there machine?? Other than that we did have a really nice time.
I'd give zero stars if I could. I accompanied my husband here on 2/22 for the USBC Ohio state tournament. This place is absolutely disgusting. I've been in port a johns that were cleaner than the women's bathroom! As soon as I walked in I was smacked in the face by the most horrendous urine smell. The counter was not clean at all. The middle stall had urine splattered all over the seat. So disgusting! And from the chatter of others that were in attendance, the men's room wasn't any better. The bar area was
Bowled in the Ohio State Open Championships here. The lanes were in excellent shape and the house was spacious. Scoring system and pin setters worked flawlessly. The only two issues were there was only one person working the bar which all drinks alcoholic and soft drinks came from and the line went 15-20 lanes down past the bar and secondly the women?s room was apparently so bad that women were leaving the alley to use a bathroom at a gas station. Otherwise fantastic alley.
Well went for state tournaments a few weeks ago. They didn't have any lane monitors, they didn't announce the cities we were from and no national anthem? kind of taken aback by that. Had one poor girl in the bar area by herself so we had to wait forever for drinks. Later learned they were short staffed. I wish they could have gotten help even if just for the tournament. But the place its self was nice.
It was a very fun bowling experience. Staff were super friendly and very helpful. The facility was clean and tidy. The lanes looked very well kept. They have a very fun food menu, a lot more than I remember than back in the day, lol. Overall, very satisfied!
It was great. I loved bowling where the Pro?s have bowled. It's a very nice & clean bowling alley.
Was here for the state bowling tournament this weekend. What an awful experience. Been to many houses over the years, but this was far and away the worst. Restrooms were disgusting.....urine all over the floor with paper towels covering it.....had the throw away my shoe covers after going in there. Could not get service at the bar. If you are going to host a tournament, then staff appropriately. 1 bar tender (who was not fast btw) for hundreds of bowlers and spectators is insane. Also, don't have ads up
Can't eat. Can't drink. Can't bowl. Not sure what is going on in this area, but Saturday nights are severely understaffed in this area. This establishment is no different. Waited 45 minutes to even get seen at the front counter. By that time, we decided to go over to BJ's for drinks and food. We also had a horrible experience over there as well. Would just recommend going/doing anything else but going here. Better spots up in the Cleveland area
Ok, so this is a complicated review because the poor rating is due to AMF in general, not necessarily Riviera (The staff did their best considering how extremely understaffed they were. Two people in particular were really professional and tried). I paid for a "teen package party" through the main company (Kyle in sales) and the experience was nothing like what the contract stated, or the online advertising stated. Online clearly states "Throw the ultimate teen party with blacklight bowling"... there was no
This will be my fourth time visiting this location trying to give the benefit of the doubt, and I'm really disappointed. Weve had to wait over 30+ minutes for food every time, only for it to be cold. The mixed drinks taste terrible, and I would think when we spend $100+,we'd get better service than that. The bathrooms are horrendous. It really is a shame because this place has the potential to be one of the nicest bowling alleys in the area in my opinion, but I guess when the staff doesn't care to do their jobs pr
My first visit to this house and I was appalled at the appearance. I bowled in the State Tournament today and I will probably never go back. Nobody came to clean up behind the squad that was there before us. The bathrooms were filthy and reeked of urine. Shocking experience to say the least. Even more shocking that they host Pro Bowling! smh
How can you own a bowling alley and not have food or service monitors during a state bowling tournament? I understand that you may be short-staffed at times, but you have to take the good with the bad. The service at the bar was terrible. The gentleman working there had a horrible attitude and refused to serve seven of us; he just complained about not being stocked from the night before. I understand how frustrating that can be, but customer service should come first! If I could give zero stars, I would, bu
We expect better at a State tournament. Place was a dump! No lane monitors. TVs couldn't be on during the tournament, why? Bar ran out of certain beer during the tournament, plus a bucket of 5 domestics was like $30. Talk about inflation. Grill was broken. People went elsewhere to eat. 1 bartender for 40 lanes, makes sense during a tournament. Where was the seating? You have teams of 5, plus family or spectators and you have small 2 top tables. Everyone had to stand. No extra ball racks. Nothing but
Nicely renovated but only chance of playing here is if you're in a bowling league or you actually come on a Friday or Saturday. I get you might not have the biggest staff but you're also telling me and one other person we can't come bowl a couple games because you have a league coming an hour after we show up? Every time I try to come bowling here I'm reminded why it's been so long since I last went?.and it's cause they simply just won't let me play on one of the forty lanes.
Worst state tournament house I've bowled at in 17 years. Pretty sure they oiled these lanes with a bucket and mop. Had one bartender. Hotter than hell on a 60 degree day. Will never be back.
Was there this weekend for the state tournament. The people that were working were nice, but it was hard to find someone. No one was ever at the desk, you had to order food at the bar. There's a TERRIBLE smell in the bathroom on the low end of the building. For a center that is hosting the state tournament for MONTHS and hosting the PBA Tour the only week that state isn't bowling, things would be better.
Legendary bowling center. Btw, one of the best bars I have seen in a bowling center.
Here for state bowling tourney. Nice facilities, but $25 for a bucket of warm beer. I usually don't complain much but dang. Took an hour to get tenders and fries. One cook and one bartender.
I had a Great time watching the PBA Bowlers bowl there. Very nice Bowling Alley and the Staff was very Friendly as well. The PBA Bowlers are very Friendly as well. I did get Autographs from Sean Rash and AJ Johnson that day. Thanks PBA for the Experience!!
Worst tournament ive ever been to in 25 years....1 bartender! Absolutely ridiculous. We waited over an hour for a beer. You could not bowl and then think about grabbing a drink because you would not be able to bowl for over an hour. The bartenders could have cared less. Side note: the lanes were oiled differently than the prior weeks tournament. Seems very unfair.
Initially the front desk staff was very friendly. I asked for a pitcher of water for my team, he said we don't do pichhers of water he said its corporate policy. He then went and got 4 cups of ice water. Very friendly man. Later I went to bar to get refills. Bartender reported "we do not give free water. You have to pay" I said your staff allready gave me water. She stares at the guy and guy says "I'll probabaly get into trouble" the bartender says it's corporate policy to not give free water. You ha
The bowling ally wasn't too bad. But I actually cleaned cobwebs off of the cash register that was sitting in the area where they prepared food. It upset my stomach so much that I refused to buy any food at that place. I was a bit worried about getting a glass of water.
Awesome lanes nice place with the driver from Battle Creek Michigan...
No staff for state tournament. Not enough seating for people to sit. The house is nice. Be ready to wait to food and beverages. Prices are expensive.
There for an hour and a half, didn't receive get my chicken tenders that I ordered at beginning. And when I asked, I was called ?buddy? in a condescending tone
The approach was not good, could not slide. Bowling Alley itself was nice but will not come back to this house for any event.
I have been bowling my whole life. Going back to the 80?s. Would love to give Riviera a positive review. However, When they charge $10/person/game, it makes bowling completely unaffordable for a family. Going with my wife and daughter to bowl 2 games would cost $60. This is absurd.
Let me start off by saying that any time out bowling with friends and family is going to be a fun time. My bias might have played a part in the generosity of giving them a third star. With that being said it is way overpriced to bowl. And not only that but they're charging $6 for shoe rentals. Wouldn't recommend going back.
Although I hated the women's bathroom the service and food was great and we had a great time I appreciated it
Big bowling tournament only 1 bar tender line was 25 minutes long or longer....ran out of several beers and the prices were a bit on the high end
Nice lanes, decent food, and a small arcade. Kids always have fun here. Spent New Year's Eve here and they had an event that could be purchased and it was well worth it. Food and drinks included.
Worst lanes I've ever bowled on. Lanes broke down every 5 minutes. It was an awful experience I'll never go back.
Over priced . And workers have little to no knowledge to what's going . The cook had no gloves or beard net. & the cooked smelled very bad when he brought our food out. Just not worth the money
We had so much fun! Even the bar food was amazing! I'd love to go back again.
Can't even play one game of bowling with my wife and two toddlers (3 and 2) without having to pay $55. Are you kidding me? Won't return.
Great bowling alley, good bowling shoes for rental. Good music choices.
Fun place and friendly staff. Met an upbeat staffer, I believe Cecilia. The manager looks like he's 20 but isn't and is knowledgeable and respectful. I'll be back. Keep up the great atmosphere.
First time Pro Am tournament for my son. We couldn't be more pleased with the staff and pro Bowlers, everyone so so kind and a special thank you to Shannon who went above and beyond to welcome us!!
Horrible service super overpriced. Don't come here
Not well organized for state tournament not enough employees also with early times no coffee or food for employee until later
Soooo I hate making posts like this because it sucks to acknowledge, even when it's true. We went tonight for a small get together for my nephews birthday. But I feel like it's important to reinforce whats happening is an honest perception. For the moment we entered the younger girl at the front desk made us feel unwelcome. It was our first time there since it switched ownership or rebranded. I'm not exactly sure which occurred. We usually go to either Spins or the old Stonehedge in Cuyahoga. When the revie
What a crappy place there for a tournament and they dont care about the bowlers .I will never bowl at another tournament at an AMF owned house ever
No staff closes bar early, over price, dirty bar. Beautiful lanes
Nice bowling alley with lots of history. I liked that it has been updated yet retained it's character. Only complaint is prices are on the high side.
Needs updated. Lanes were great but the decor and bathrooms are seriously outdated
Great service, friendly staff, and lanes were nice! Family friendly
This is a fun place to go in Akron Ohio on a Friday or Saturday night with the kids and family and there's never no trouble always fun and everybody supports everybody Best Time Ever number one status thank you very much AMF bowling Matt MJ Smith
Great place for familys, some light snacks
Terrible service & way overpriced. Don't go here
Was there on a Saturday afternoon with family. It was the perfect time as we were there before peak time. The associates were friendly, got us our shies
Went bowling with some friends as soon as they opened. I didn't catch the name of the young gentleman at the front, but he took care of our food and our drinks as well and everything was perfect! This is definitely my new favorite place to bowl!
bathrooms are not clean. The kitchen wasn't open and no keno.
Went for the TOC staff was amazing great time
I booked my friend's 60th birthday party for 7 of us. It was a little pricey but it sounded fun so we did it. It WAS fun! The booking process was easy, the guys at the alley were super helpful and attentive. The food we picked was quite good and more than enough that we all took some home. The place is clean and well taken care of. I would definitely do this again.
Standard bowling alley. They gave us pitchers of water for our table and cups which was helpful vs the small dispenser set out which was emptied. Likely low on staff. The bar is sort of behind the main desk so it is away from the lanes completely and hidden behind a wall. They rarely had someone working the bar so we talked with front desk staff and they would help us at the bar instead when available. Very chill and helpful team there. Friends got food that looked like some bomb bowling alley meals! There
Great fun, on a Saturday night! Would recommend for family fun.
I had a great time here. Honest employees working here but they are few. Need more help more staff. Not just 3 people for all Friday night. You are trying to get stuff for your party but all the newcomers are preoccupying employees with tasks. Regardless, it was a fun time.
We were super disappointed to have spent $250 up front for a reservation that forced us to include food and drink, just to get to the bowling alley on Saturday and have to wait 40 minutes in line to be told there were no shoes or lanes. I kindly asked for a full refund, but the manager said we would have to go directly to ?guest events.? I've called and left a voicemail as well as sent 2 follow up emails and have yet to hear back. The very few people who were working, were working hard but unfortunately, I
Fantastic experience! Only downside was some snafus with the lane closing on us before a game ended but the staff was very helpful in that regard. Would be a 5* if you could order food through the QR code and put it on your lanes tab instead of paying through the app, but that's a minor issue.
Nice lanes, new equipment. NOT FOR FAMILIES. Ironically the only place on a Saturday night with bountiful lanes open. Why? 250 dollars for a family night of bowling. We only stayed because we were tired of trying to find a place that wasn't packed. Stonehenge can be played for less than half the price and way nicer bathrooms. Next time we will just pick another activity. That's insanity. 5 kids 2 adults. 6 bucks per person for shoes and 10 dollars per person per game. One drink per person and no food. 250..
Stood in line for 3-5 minutes waiting for young lady to wrap up what she was doing. Young couple comes after me and waits for a moment. The young lady helps the couple, I let her know I was next and she says the couple has a reservation & she didn't see me. I explained she wouldn't know that if she'd address me & I'd been waiting 5 minutes. She states I wasn't waiting that long(thought you didn't see me). She tells me other employee can help me while she gets manager to help couple. I tell her what I need
Visited recently this establishment with family's and friends and as a security professional I was shocked about blain disregard for patrons safety by this corporation. Immediately this gave me a unpleasant start to our bowling outing. If a corporation has audacity to place a sign on their doors eluding that you aren't allowed to protect yourself in this building and give a free rain for criminals to do you harm and yet they don't provide armed staffed security then I can only claim as ignorance by upper
If I could give 0 stars I would. First of all the girl working the counter obviously hated her job. She had a bad attitude and was just all around rude. I went up to purchase fries and I said could you put it on the card on file please and she responds with ?I was already gonna do that? with attitude. Also when we first got there it was supposed to be 3.33 for games at least that's what they advertised and then online it said 16.47 or something for unlimited bowling and then we were told it was 2.79 per gam
Friendly staff. Cool dinosaur ramps for young kids. A bit pricier than other local places. But not by much.
Wonderful bowling alley!! There were plenty of lanes, the place was super clean. I can't recommend the pretzel bites though, the cheese sauce was disgusting and the bites themselves weren't good at all. Normally, I would cut a star for the food not being good, but the service we received canceled that out! Just the friendliest and nicest service. Also, I didn't try any other food so maybe the rest is good. There is a full bar and beer on tap.
My bf and I came on a quite date night to bowl, eat and have drinks. As we were finishing up our night we noticed that one of the employees cleaning up was throwing bowling balls at the racks to be put away. I have never seen this happen in all of my years of bowling no matter which bowling alley I've been to. It's very concerning to see this happening while there are customers inside. The only acknowledgment on the unsafe behavior was that he checked to make sure that there was no one there however it does
Bowled in a tournament there. Absolutely no oil on the lanes whatsoever. It was a tournament! They were working on the men's bathroom with awful fumes by our lanes. They could have put us on the other end of the house or do that when they were not open. Our lanes had left over food on the floor by the tables. Bathrooms are horrible. Drinks are on avg $10 a drink. If they have another tournament there, I will hard pass.
We wanted to take a moment to express our heartfelt gratitude to AMF Riviera Lanes who supported our recent Stuff-A-Bus donation drive. Their collective generosity and support made a significant impact, and we are so thankful for their partnership in our mission to support our local community and Schools. Fairlawn Area Businesses
They completed a badly needed renovation. The new flooring and technology gave this place a great lift. The staff is generally nice and helpful if you need them. I haven't had their food but it always looks good and is on trend.
Went with 5 people, we did just 2 games and spent like 125 dollars!! Horrendously over priced, I got food too so essentially 5 people for a short amount of time can burn almost 200 dollars... bowling. You could go w/ 2 people to cedar point for that. Bathrooms were absolutely disgusting. The girls in our group ALL complained the bathroom smelled so bad it made them gag. Balls were just the cheap old rentals, shoes were at least new. However I would never go back for the amount they a
We bowled 7 games, the rack fell down twice on me and the ball hit it, very embarrassing! I've been bowling over 40+ years. It happened about 15 minutes apart. We got 1 pitcher of beer. Overall cost me around $61. Does that seemed worth it? I live close and it seemed like a nice center. I've only lived here 4 years. Makes me wonder if I will return. Bad experience
I give it a 3 for the potential the place has. Girl behind the counter was pleasant and helpful. Main issue we had was... DIRTY. If you open at noon on Sunday, send in a crew or person at 8 or 9 to clean from the night before. Bowling area Was not just dirty but downright nasty. French fries on the floor, drink spills etc. And the machines, shakers, whatever had our balls looking black. Hope at least those cleaned up before the PBA gets in town.
Very nice place! My family went on a Sunday evening and felt like it was a private bowling party! Very clean. Love the upgraded monitors and the ease of inputting bowler info including left/right hand. The bowling shoes looked new. Staff very friendly. Different specials throughout the week(ex. college night, $2.22 night) Great place for family entertainment.
Took us an hour to get a lane (understandable) so we waited at the bar. They charged us for a pretzel we ordered but never got. We finally got a lane 20 minutes before close and they shut the lane down early. The alley still charged us for a full game.
Went to watch the pro bowlers TOC event had a great time, it was crowded but I expected it to be, when you have some of the greatest bowlers in the country competing for the title. I was impressed with how they were with the spectators they all (the bowlers that were competing) stopped anytime someone had a question or wanted a photo or autotroph and gave them their time. That's something I watch for and has a impact on who I want to win. They all were winners to me. The establishment also did a excellent j
Tried to reserve a lane online, it was outrageously expensive for 2 lanes for 2 and a half hours, 10 people total... about $500 with taxes and fees. Then I noticed that's because it forces you to purchase $20 for food and beverage PER PERSON in order to reserve a lane, which we definitely won't need. So I called in to ask if it's typically busy during the time we want, so I could just pay at the counter and don't have to pay for food we won't use. The first guy on the phone was mumbling and then interrupted
Came here tonight for the second time. It's 5:50 on a Saturday and the two of us were turned away and told there were no open lanes. A quick look at the place showed 40 lanes with people at 5 of them. We really couldn't bowl a game or two? First time we came was on a Tuesday night and basically had the place to ourselves. That was a nice experience, hence the 3 stars instead of the 1 or 2 that I feel like giving right now. Probably won't be back but if we do I'll happily upgrade or downgrade based on the ex
Top notch bowling alley. Good bar and has good. There's a few arcade games for the kiddos as well.
The lanes we good. But WOW the pricing!!!! It was myself, husband, and son. We didn't see any visible pricing per game and show rental so we thought it would be around same price as everyone else. We'll I played 2 games my husband and son did 3 so 8 games and my sons $6 shoe rental, chicken tenders chicken sandwich and pop was $100..... absolutely ridiculous. Not to mention the bathrooms were absolutely disgusting the women had toilet paper from one end to another and the smell omg there is no words to des
Bowled in the ToC Pro-Am tournament this weekend! Fantastic time! Classic facility with a rich history! I'd go again anytime.
Nice place... expensive in comparison to other bowling venues around. We usually spend 50 bucks or less for our family of 4 to bowl 4 games each. Here it was almost 80!! Definitely NOT worth nearly double the price. OH, and we don't rent shoes since we have our own.
The best experience of my life hands down, Dylan and Nancy both welcomed me to the alley with open arms, greeting me with a smile and a warm hello. As I approached the desk I was offered a pair of lanes and a cold, satisfying glass of chocolate milk. While I turned their offer down, that didn't dampen their spirits, and Dylan continued to carefully handle the balls while he cleaned and sanitized them. 11/10 would recommend coming here
Why 3 stars and not 5? Old lady in the counter rudeness without reason! My family likes the place the rest of staff is nice and very helpful. Unfortunately when you come smiling and ready to have fun you have to face her and you just get angry...... Send her to the back she is not for for costumer service!
Was run well, not so much now. Booked our 9th year in a row company Christmas party there, party room was not cleaned and was 54 degrees. Vacuumed the room after the party started. Tables had no table clothes,, they found some and put square table cloths on round tables.. It had someone's sleeping bag and pillow in a corner. Food was an hour and a half late. We had one of the 10 reserved lanes go down for 45 min. Guy fixes the lane but a doesn't tell us to push a button to get going, so we stand there for
Had a great time here. The staff was super friendly and helpful. The food and food options were better than any bowling place I've been to in the area. Do yourself a favor though and go on a discount day or get a Groupon. It gets expensive. The food is priced decent but they get you on the beverages. A small pop is over 3.00 though you do get refills.
This place is absolutely way too expensive. It was $99 for me, my wife and two kids to bowl two games. There's plenty of nicer places for a lot cheaper
Buisness was dirty, the bar's staff sat around arguing amongst one another about the music volume and the extensive wait time. The lane had a total of 40 avaliable lanes but only had 10 open at a time which forced a wait time of over an hour. After the one hour mark I picked up my family and left. Terrible experience.
Had a graduation party there, very nice. Brand new computer scoring system (12.15.17). I use phone and email reservation process for large group, was national system, but went very well. I and the family was greatly satisfied. Will go again.
It’s a mix of nostalgia and high-energy fun! Many arcades blend retro classics like Pac-Man and pinball with modern VR games, racing simulators, and rhythm challenges — often with music, lights, and a social vibe.
Both can be great! Solo visits let you focus on your favorite games, while going with friends adds competition, teamwork, and laughs. Many people plan arcade meetups as a casual hangout or even date spot.
Usually just yourself and a way to pay (some arcades still use coins, others use cards or apps). If you're competitive, bring your A-game. If you're social, bring friends or meet new ones over multiplayer games.
Weekdays or early afternoons are usually less crowded — perfect for focused play. Evenings and weekends bring the buzz, especially at barcades or venues with DJs, tournaments, or themed nights.
Absolutely! Arcades attract a mix of casual players and serious gamers. Whether you're jumping into a four-player co-op or chatting between rounds, it's a fun, low-pressure way to connect over shared interests.
Not at all. While many arcades are family-friendly, there are also adult-oriented ones with full bars, 18+ nights, or vintage nostalgia themes. Arcades today cater to everyone — from first-timers to lifelong gamers.
Yes! Many arcades host regular competitions, retro nights, cosplay parties, and more. Whether you're into high scores or just want to watch and vibe, events add an extra layer to the experience.
No worries — arcades are about having fun, not being perfect. Try a variety of games, ask others for tips, and remember: the vibe is more “let’s play” than “let’s win.”
Yes, pool tables in arcades remain a fantastic draw in 2025! Games like 8-ball or 9-ball offer tactile, skill-based fun that blends strategy and precision. Modern tables feature smooth felt, responsive cues, and vibrant designs, enhancing the classic experience. Arcades foster a social vibe with casual matches or competitive tournaments, appealing to all skill levels. Unlike digital games, pool’s physicality—lining up shots, feeling the cue’s weight—keeps it timeless.
