AMF Lewisville Lanes

AMF Lewisville Lanes

Reviews Summary

The bowling alley receives mixed reviews, with many praising friendly staff, clean facilities, and fun atmosphere, especially during league nights or events. Positive highlights include strong drinks, good snacks, and well-maintained lanes. However, criticisms focus on outdated equipment, high prices, poor food quality, and occasional management issues. Some guests report inconsistent service, Groupon restrictions, and maintenance problems like lane breakdowns. While many enjoy the experience, others feel it’s overpriced or declining in quality. Weekday staffing and phone/online service are also noted as weak points. Overall, it’s a decent spot for bowling but has room for improvement.

Customer Reviews

The food and price on games are reasonable. It's an old alley that I grew up coming to. Has a couple of pool tables and arcade. About $6 per person and then $6 for shoes. They host leagues a lot so definitely call ahead

Bowled there for the first time in 30 years. The oil pattern is different than the alley I normally bowl. Kinda like driving a car on ice with bald tires. Super slick

We love this place. We make the hour plus drive for the youth tournaments they host. The place is always clean, staff is friendly and helpful and we appreciate the support of the owners and management to host and contribute to these youth events.

Pretty, pretty good. Old school bowling alley that's also smoke free. The management and employees are always professional and polite. Great leagues run every night. Hate giving him any credit, but Josh @ the ProShop knows his stuff and takes great care of his customers. -1 Star because the food is Bowlero muck and the men?s restroom is frequently a disaster.

It is a good place to bowl but since it's the year it is it can get expensive. Instead of playing for time you play for game per person which will end up with a high cost of you just want two people. I even payed 50 dollars for one hour worth of games (two games) But if you want a better and cheaper experience you can get the membership that can get you 25% off in games and there are more features to this.

Can't beat Sunday $3.99 special, it's old and outdated but it was fun ! We enjoyed ourselves and the staff was friendly!! It goes a long way when all the staff members are nice and friendly. We will definitely go back and have some family fun !!!

The employees are great! Very helpful & nice. Prices aren't to bad. Me & my grandkids had a great time. Enjoyed it, it reminded me of when I was a kid very nostalgic??

Some friends wanted to get some cardio. We chose bowling. We had a blast. The check in was smooth and quick. The bar area and lanes were clean. The staff was very friendly. I'll return. Sundays after 6 unlimited bowling!!! The game card was not worth the purchase. Maybe free snack or drink is better than the arcade

We held a team event at AMF this past weekend and had a great time. The management staff was on target!! Food was really good. Will go back again

I'd recommend coming on Mondays over any other day in the week. They have unlimited bowling, shoes included, for only $13.49! Their (Monday Mayhem Special) is a fantastic deal. The Lewisville location has very nice lanes, they almost look new in fact. My only complaint would be for them to put some exterior lighting on/around the building and sign to make this place a bit easier to see from the road, especially at night. Their balls don't have craters in them, hardly any chips even, which is an important fa

Poor service. Don't bother purchasing on Groupon either; they will not honor it. Piss poor excuse of a place to bowl. Do better AMF

We played 3 games, and costed around 83-86$ after tip. The food was good and the energy of the lanes were ok. They didn't have 11pounds ball. It's a good place to bowl, will recommend. Won't go there myself again ??.

This is what I do. Have shots and have fun with friends while making shots lol. These lanes are cool and the people a very chill. When you go make sure you check for hourly deals because they have some sweet 1s like 8 dollar unlimited on Wednesday nights. I would recommend this place over main event if you just want to bowl because it is so much cheaper and usually less packed.

Vareful with their groupon BS they dont lwt you use it till 24hrs after and dont accomidate. Felt scammed.

Decent lanes, pretty outdated. Definitely a smokers joint back in the day and that smell never completely leaves. Arcade was nice for the kids but the card loading machine was broken along with a few of the games. Great fries and chicken strips. All the staff was friendly.

I love this place! Easy and convenient to walk in whenever and get a lane. Good snacks too.

This place is amazing. But the food is not that good. Less staff in week days.

Had a blast! At 10 the lights go down and the black lights come on. Good music and no more smoking inside.

This one was almost an awful experience turned into a great time out. We arrived at 530 on a Saturday they told us to come back at 630 because a tournament had taken most of the lanes. We said fine. We had planned on going to Coyote Drive In after but we decided not to and wait to go bowling. We came back at 630 and showed the Groupon and they told us they didn't accept Groupon after 6 on weekends. I was a little angry since we cancelled our movie plans to go bowling and told the nice folks at the front de

Awesome bowling alley! We have been coming here since my kids were little (20 years!) and always have a great time! The management is awesome the bar and snack bar have great food and drinks the employees are nice and courteous and the lanes are clean with a lot of different of different size shoes and bowling balls readily accessible! And, the bathrooms are always very clean too! Management and owners should be proud! My company has had many, many bowling tournament tournaments here for charity events and

Traditional bowling lanes. The facility is older, but the staff here are what makes the center nice. I bowl here at least four times a week and they are friendly and helpful staff. The computers are dated, the food is good (not healthy), the center is clean. There are a few pool tables and a bar with decent drinks. Arcade and plenty of league play.Management is solid here and always working hard, honestly they keep this place running.

Love the people that work there. Normal lane problems you can expect at any alley. Only complaint would be the pricing of everything. Food and especially drinks, alcoholic and just soda, are exorbitantly expensive.

The lanes are pretty slick which is good not like that of Bowlera off Beltline Dallas Tx sorry to knock them. But I bowl with the custom balls they have and I have a pretty nice curve but there it wouldn't even make it to the pins with my curve but here it goes all the way down like it's supposed to and on Tuesdays $2 shoe & $2 games after 8pm I bowled two games and a pair of shoesn $7 & some change.

Overall a good experience for me and my family who were visiting. The only downside was the guy working the bar. He was very rude when my wife forgot her purse, when we explained that to him he rudely told us " I need to see her ID". We explained we understood but didn't appreciate the way he told us. Me and my wife are both TABC certified and work for well known liquor so we know the deal. The rules apply to everyone but there's still a level of service to consider when explaining the rules that he didn't

Just started to get my 4 year old into sports so I figured bowling. Lanes are ok, oil pattern wasn't worn thru yet and the pins had some life to them. The bowling alley itself is old but I much prefer it compared to the new super overpriced bowling alleys

Just your typical bowling ally but is alot of fun!

I had fun. I did order some wings while there. Although it took some time to get the were worth the wait. The wings were a decent portion size for the price and better than anticipated.

Spending time with family is always great. All was good at the lanes. Too bad they couldn't keep our lane from breaking down every 5 minutes and we we're only able to get in one game in the whole hour. We didn't even get compensated for the lost time

It is okay place. We ordered online and took forever to bring the drinks and food. Lines sometimes work well and then not ?? funny. But we have fun.

Staff is absolutely wonderful. Food is surprisingly good! Drinks are strong. Had a great time here ??

Austin and Josh are amazing. My boyfriend just started bowling more seriously, and Josh gave him some great advice about starting out. The vibes are amazing, and the lanes are always well kept. This is definitely a weekly thing for us now.

Great place for bowing, online and phone service is sucks,no one's will to answer phone call to reserve lane and can't reserve online either... Don't mean to be a Karen but holy shit the service(online/phone) is bad. Doesn't matter which options I picked on the phone no one will answer...

The manager amber & Angie went above and beyond to make our bowling party something special. The lanes where manicured to perfection. Pizza and wings were great. We will be definitely coming back?. Thank You so much for making our farewell party for my son something special.

It has improved over the years They just need to run bowling specials earlier and on weekends I live a hour away not bowling at 10 pm to get cheaper lanes And bowling prices need to come down

Friendly & helpful staff. Safe, clean facilities. Equipment and lanes well maintained. Will definitely be back!

Had a great time bowling. Lanes were well waxed and balls in overall good conditions. Shoes weren't from the 80?s. I wouldn't recommend trying to go during tournaments because they have most of the lanes until tournament ends. We went on Friday at 7:30pm and tournaments ran until around 9pm. Not 100% on start times. However, we waited and it was worth it! Pizza was also good and Bartender was amazing! I would recommend We waited

Everything was amazing! Staff was super nice and I even danced with the purple haired manager in the snazzy blazer. She was super friendly and it was awesome. Everything was being cleaned regularly and that is a super important thing for me. I look forward to going back again soon! Maybe even checking out a league there since it's so close!

This was fun and inexpensive.it was very clean and well maintained. Make sure to get an odd numbered lane, or else your table will be way back on the upper ledge. I did not see or hear any drunks. It seemed like a good, wholesome crowd. We did not order any food as we had just eaten. However, the food we saw and smelled that others we eating seemed pretty good. The staff was also very friendly and helpful. We had a large group come take the lane next to us. They had never bowled, and knew nothing about bowl

Nice place, great lanes, food and drinks available, they have a couple of pool tables, lots of fun perks for bowling, and a pretty nice Pro shop on site?

Lane 24 is requiring a reset 1-4 times EVERY bowler. Today is Thursday. Lane was doing this Monday too. Ball return is spitting the ball out at a high speed. Will hurt someone. Maintenance is minimal at best in this house!

Went an hour before close and the staff still cooked us a pizza made our drinks and were very nice about it first time bowling in 25 years had a blast highly recommend

Great old place. Nice lanes and great employees.

Great place!! Good lanes. Very clean restrooms. Ordered wings and beer. Both were good. Friendly staff. Will definitely be going back.

I recently visited AMF Lewisville in Dallas with a group of friends, and unfortunately, it was not a good experience. We had a Groupon for two people and two lanes for two hours. However, when we arrived, we were informed that there was a league going on and all the lanes were occupied. After waiting for some time, we were finally given one lane, which was fine with us. However, the lane was in poor condition, and we had to keep calling staff to fix it. The bowling balls kept getting stuck, and the pins wer

Came here on a Monday afternoon and had a great time with our family and some friends! Prices were much better than other places and the workers were juggling a lot because it was busy but still handled it well! Glad this is so close to us because we'll be back!

The atmosphere was like any other bowling alley. The staff was really nice! And there was someone there continuously cleaning and disinfecting everything! The only reason I'm giving 4 stars is the food was not great. I understand its bowling alley food but we ordered the nachos and the chili was beyond gross. And my friend ordered the soft pretzel and the cheese dipping sauce tasted like ita been sitting on the shelf long before quarantine. I enjoyed the bowling and will be returning but will be order somet

This bowling alley is straight from the 90s with dated finishes and sub-par food offerings. With weird, family unfriendly hours and prices, these lanes are mainly for leagues. The atmosphere is dated and borderline depressing. If you aren't a serious bowler or have a family, you're better off going to Main Event or Grapevine. You'll pay the same prices, but have better food, arcade games, and alternative activity options.

The bowling lanes are good but food here is very bad and greasy. Drinks are not good as well..

The staff was nice but their maintenance support (bald guy) didn't seem like he wanted to be much help for us. Overall a good experience though

All was good here. Typical older bowling lanes. Workers were helpful. Only thing is no burgers on food menu a staple in Texas. Menu might need to be upgraded to Texas customers. Over all good place

I love bowling at AMF Lewisville I go there too precise twice at week the lanes are always clean and perfect

I come here on Wednesdays for a company sponsored bowling league so the games are free. The drinks taste good but are usually lacking on alcohol if that's your thing. The food is good but not healthy by any means (pizza, wings, fries, cookies, etc). Still a fun place to go, clean and the staff is mostly nice.

Amf is currently going through remodeling but still had a great time with our out-of-town guests. We recommend this location. Beyond bowling, they have a cool arcade and pool tables.

Haven't been here in a long while, so wasn't sure what I was walking into with the kids. The place is renovated nicely and pretty clean, for a bowling alley. Kids complained of smell (cleaning solution smell) at first, but they got over it. Price-wise, I felt there could?ve been a better deal since we were playing in the middle of the day when virtually no one else was, but we were charged full price. Still not too expensive for 1.5 hr of fun with family. Overall, had a nice time.

There is no hourly billing , doesn't honor Groupon, and poor customer service and worst food taste ! The two stars are for the Bowling ball quality!

This is hands down the best bowling alley I've been to. The staff were all incredibly friendly and happy to assist. Everything was very clean. The drinks were great. I will be returning! I highly recommend to anyone looking for a good date night spot

Just joined a league here for summer. Have bowled and run many tournaments here and rarely experienced break downs or pinspotter issues. It's definitely not cheap for a non-league bowler to open bowl. Amounted to nearly $19 for 3 games on a weekday afternoon before 5pm and I have my own shoes. Not to mention movie-theater-priced soft drinks. Can see how Bowlero is having record profits reported to the stock market.

Had a great time! It was actually less expensive than I thought it was going to be because it's discounted Sunday after 6. It was busy though. Definitely will be back soon!

My favorite lanes by far that I found in the area. I find that it's usually fantastically consistent. They'll have their occasional odd oil pattern but for the most part it's great. We used to go a lot during the summer but their current specials start at 11 which is a bit late for us so we started going to Plano to try to get home a little earlier (better rates), but the lanes are a little more inconsistent. My friend actually drives down from Allen because he thinks it's worth the drive. We'll probabl

Super unhappy with out last experience here. My son was getting some extra practice in Sunday and we I paid I wasn't told that the prices changed to per game fee. We've bowled on an hourly basis. To my surprise 77 dollars later. I guess I should've known something when she didn't give me my receipt. I'll never bowl here again.

Pro Shop review. The gentleman running the pro shop was very professional and freindly. He even took the time to passionatly teach me proper throwing technique and the basics of my new hook ball. I highly recommend getting your bowling ball from here.

Well don't know where to start about this place. Took my grandson and stepson bouling I spend around 200$ to get boul fries nachos and a chocolate chip cookie. Our lane was uneven at least 3 pins already down before Bouler started. Nachos had no cheese asked for more and looked like they took some away from was already there. Cookie was burnt on the outside uncooked in the inside not once but twice will never attend this place again especially after a after talking with management and all he say is sorry

Went with my grandson over Christmas break. Lanes were great, music was super and did not make my ears bleed, shoes were new, staff was wonderful and prices were far more reasonable than the "other guys." It's nice to have a bowling alley that still resembles a bowling alley instead of the inside of a spaceship. I didn't get to eat, this time, but the food was good and additions to menu look yummy. I'll be back; maybe join a league. I would love to hang out with the Bowling Stones - that's clever.

Pleasantly surprised by how busy it was on a Sunday night. The rental shoes looked pretty new, as well!

You just don't have a decent shot here, I had 6 solid pocket shots and got damn splits. The only thing that has changed here is that they painted the inside and gone up outrageous on their prices. It's pretty sad that a tea costs $5, so I didn't eat there. I had to give one star in order to make a review. I hope we don't ever have to bowl a tournament here again ??!

The lanes and staff were great. I'm not a fan of the old scoring system, but it's well made up for by the quality of the lanes themselves. The building isn't going to impress on the way in but the beer was cold ( with clean lines) and the lanes were well maintained. I will be back.

Always a good spot and the service is good. Unfortunately the leagues take up SO many lanes throughout the week, it's difficult to get in. My husband and I both work from home and even at 2:00pm it's busy.

I've been here years before and it was a nice, cheap place to go bowling. However my recent visit was very unsavory, as it was around 12 dollars each for 3 people to bowl a single game in extremely tight lanes with an alley that chose rather frequently not return our balls. The staff's reaction was not very, if at all, apologetic and no discount or the likes was offered. Harsh review of my last visit aside, I assume it was a fluke but if you want a nice place to go bowling you can find better.

I have visit AMF Lewisville lanes for many years now and I love the place and their customer service. But today 08/21/2021. They had a very rude manager (purple hair). I never bring food from outside and today I had a kids drink. She came to us and told us about it in a rude way. I don't think she like her job!

Really really awesome workers. Excellent bartender, I can't remember his name but loved his recommendations. Great lanes, great experience.

Bad experience. Our balls weren't being returned so they had to stop to retrieve them every 15 minutes and the worker said in an angry tone "well stop throwing balls when this happens". Also, our beer tower spigot broke and when we informed the guy at the bar he shook his head and threw the spigot against the wall. Wow!

They no longer have midnight madness, prices are good, and the staff is friendly, but the past two times I've gone they have been full of patrons who do not follow the courteous rules of not charging into the lane when your neighbor has already made their approach. For everyone out there, please be thoughtful of the person next to you and allow them a couple seconds to aim and throw.

This lane was very dirty, ball return wouldn't return our balls. Also scuffed my brand new ball I bought a couple of weeks ago. Never had a lane dirty up my ball as much as this one did. Even main event, which is not well maintained left my ball spotless. The staff needs to manage their lanes. I will be returning to complain about the damage the lanes/ball return caused, whichever one that caused scuffs to appear on my ball.

I come here often and never had a problem with the music until today. I see a LOT of children here right now and the manager (idk he's new and controlling the music, wearing a red hoodie) is playing nonstop music containing cuss words, referencing weapons and violence, and very graphic adult themes (playing the music videos on the projectors, and uncensored, so no mistaking anything). It's also so loud I have to yell at the person sitting next to me just to have a conversation and it looks like it's botheri

It's best attributes are that it's not packed like trendier alleys, it's got friendly staff, good beers and drinks, and cheap games. I liked the unlimited special after 10pm. I gave it four stars because it's a bit outdated, but still had a good time.

This alley used to be the place to go bowling. The staff and management, for the most part, were attentive and fair. They catered to the return bowler which made sense. Now, however, that has changed with the new management that just took over. Nothing that actually improves the center has been implemented and seems that nothing ever will be. The lanes are breaking down faster than they ever have and the whole building is insanely dirty, especially the restrooms. This house has seen it's glory days, unfortu

This was a really good bowling alley with really good competitive pricing which in turn meant it was really busy and a good experience. We did find that almost half the lanes were taken up by teams practicing but really it didn't bother us just made us look really bad at bowling. Bar is a tad expensive for the quality but overall not bad.

Wonderful place good pizza and wings..Austin was truly geniune and a good person I highly recommend for good family fun...go by and see them .

We recently had another Girl Scout Cookie rally here and as usual it was amazing. This time they even turned the night time lights and music on for us. The girls had an amazing time and were sure to pick up after themselves. It is very easy to plan an event at this location and we will definitely be doing it again in the future .

Had a kid's birthday party here. The prices for birthdays on the website are not real numbers as they add taxes and "booking fees" on top of it which increased the price by around 25%. Despite the misleading prices, the prices are a lot better than other bowling venues (Main Event, Strikz, Pinstack, etc). For the same price we got 2 hours of bowling instead of 1 and food/drinks included. The service was very good. The staff greeted us on arrival and were very attentive throughout the party. The interior o

The building and equipment seems a little dated, but the lanes and approach are maintained well. This place is dedicated to bowling, not the arcade and all the other stuff like main event. It's nice not sticking to the floor on the approach, and well maintained lanes. If you want to bowl, it's much nicer then main event for bowling. They have a pro shop witch also makes it a better then main event

Recently got an opportunity to bowl here as a sub in a league. I prefer an old school bowling alleyto the new trendy bowling alleys that are more like a club or family amusement center. The facility was in great shape. The lanes were very consistent. We didn't have a single issue with the pinsetters are all returns and I didn't see anyone else in the league have any issues either.

Great place, very friendly staff. Amber and Angela were very sweet and took care of us. Great deals on the pizza and wings. They were very delicious.

The ceiling tiles haven't been switched out, since the no smoking ordinance went through. The plasce still stinks of stale smoke. The bathroom are generally neglected. There needs to be better lighting in the parking lot, for security purposes. The staff turn over is very high, due to management issues. The lanes are ok, when they aren't breaking down and most of the staff are friendly. League nights are fun and tournaments are usually a full house. They offer full service birthday parties. There is a cafe,

Had a blast. Great family fun! Something we plan to do weekly.

Amber and Angela were so great at helping us with everything and making sure we were comfortable and happy for our reservation! The bowling and atmosphere was great, definitely recommend!

Edit: went back for the first time since pandemic begin a couple of weeks ago for the Wed night special, and they tell me it's going to be full house Tues-Thurs due to league. League doesn't finish until past 10pm? and they close at 11pm? what's the point of having specials???? The people tell us to try driving 20 min north to bowlero in Denton and when we get there's they're closing in an hour. Would've been nice to be told that before they told us to drive 20 min elsewhere. This place is a big fat nope fr

They wont serve alcohol to people with paper IDs, even though the state of TX issues paper IDs to people while their hard copies are being processed. We've been here several times and this was never a problem until tonight. We were going to sign up for the 10 week fit bowl (4 of us) but luckily this happened before we wasted our money.

Frequently Asked Questions

What’s it like visiting an arcade today?

It’s a mix of nostalgia and high-energy fun! Many arcades blend retro classics like Pac-Man and pinball with modern VR games, racing simulators, and rhythm challenges — often with music, lights, and a social vibe.

Is it better to go alone or with friends?

Both can be great! Solo visits let you focus on your favorite games, while going with friends adds competition, teamwork, and laughs. Many people plan arcade meetups as a casual hangout or even date spot.

What should I bring to an arcade?

Usually just yourself and a way to pay (some arcades still use coins, others use cards or apps). If you're competitive, bring your A-game. If you're social, bring friends or meet new ones over multiplayer games.

What’s the best time to visit an arcade?

Weekdays or early afternoons are usually less crowded — perfect for focused play. Evenings and weekends bring the buzz, especially at barcades or venues with DJs, tournaments, or themed nights.

Can I meet new people at arcades?

Absolutely! Arcades attract a mix of casual players and serious gamers. Whether you're jumping into a four-player co-op or chatting between rounds, it's a fun, low-pressure way to connect over shared interests.

Are arcades still just for kids?

Not at all. While many arcades are family-friendly, there are also adult-oriented ones with full bars, 18+ nights, or vintage nostalgia themes. Arcades today cater to everyone — from first-timers to lifelong gamers.

Are there events or tournaments I can join?

Yes! Many arcades host regular competitions, retro nights, cosplay parties, and more. Whether you're into high scores or just want to watch and vibe, events add an extra layer to the experience.

What if I’m not great at arcade games?

No worries — arcades are about having fun, not being perfect. Try a variety of games, ask others for tips, and remember: the vibe is more “let’s play” than “let’s win.”

Are pool tables in arcades still good in this modern age?

Yes, pool tables in arcades remain a fantastic draw in 2025! Games like 8-ball or 9-ball offer tactile, skill-based fun that blends strategy and precision. Modern tables feature smooth felt, responsive cues, and vibrant designs, enhancing the classic experience. Arcades foster a social vibe with casual matches or competitive tournaments, appealing to all skill levels. Unlike digital games, pool’s physicality—lining up shots, feeling the cue’s weight—keeps it timeless.
