This place is utterly deplorable. We came at 6:30 with our babysitter and two other families to enjoy a night of bowling. They told us 30 minutes but what it really was was a 2 hour wait!! This place is run by nothing but liars and are money hungry. They tell you 30 minutes and suggest to have a drink at the bar or get some food while you wait so you can spend more money. Pretty much turned into some type of hunger games with so many pissed off families waiting for a lane because they were all told the same

I haven't been bowling in a long time, so when I googled it, Bowlero came up, which is AMF bowling lanes, they had a special fri night after party deal, which starts at 8 pm and is only $23 per person unlimited bowling. Shoes are not included. This place is very clean, and the lanes are so slick and polished. They have 50 lanes. There are giant screens towards the back of the lanes. You can customize your scoreboard to a bunch of themes they offer. The bar is fully open, as well as the snack bar. They have

We stopped by AMF Bowling on a rainy Saturday and the place was absolutely packed. Despite the crowd, one person stood out ? the manager, Seth. He was the only one working and somehow managed to run the entire operation by himself. From checking people in at the front desk, to making drinks behind the bar, to fixing lanes and handling issues ? he did it all with a great attitude and a calm demeanor. It's rare to see someone handle that much pressure with such professionalism. Big props to him for keeping t

This AMF Bowling is a fantastic place. I love that it has many lanes and isn't dark inside. They have Big TVs with Music Playing which made our Experience more Fun. The Alcoholic drinks weren't that great. Could had do without it.

Great experience at AMF Garden City Lanes. Clean environment, great food & waitstaff. I was especially impressed by their general manager Bianca. Very kind of her to check on myself & my party regarding our overall satisfaction. Definitely will be going back! Thanks again AMF and Bianca for a great night!

Due to my experience at AMF Garden City Long Island recently, I am leaving this review. I was recently at this location with several friends. The bowling alley was extremely busy. We were celebrating. An employee was walking by and asked if we needed anything. I had just ordered food and told that to her. Very shortly, Bianca came over and with her was our food. It was fresh and hot. The atmosphere was fun and we enjoyed ourselves. I must compliment Bianca on the cleanliness of the environment as well as t

Decided to visit AMF on Tuesday with my family and we had an outstanding time. Place is very clean and welcoming. Bianca the General manager was at the front checking in on customers who by the way was very professional. Derek in the kitchen was fast, friendly and very informative. Definitely a place to visit with your family. Can't wait to visit again.

Went on on a Sunday afternoon with a Groupon special . It was super easy to redeem at the front desk and included 2 hours of bowling with shoes included for 35 dollars . Can't beat that ! There were no Barriers between lanes . Proof of vax isn't required but the young lady at the front tried her best to space the parties out. The bowling alley was clean , food and drinks are available. The drinks aren't very good and I didn't try the food but they have regular alley food like fries and tenders from what I

Had a event at this bowling alley, and let me tell you, the staff was FANTASTIC!!! We have a lot of picky eaters and Koshana was extremely friendly and accommodating to our needs. Tyler and Marissa was very professional and we received our food and drinks in a timely manner. Bianca made sure to check on us to see that everything went well, she was great! 10 out of 10, will recommend!!

Paul who owns the pro shop is top notch, he is extremely busy so you might have to wait! But everyone goes to him to get balls drilled. The workers and managers are great over there except for this one small white guy with glasses, looks like he's moody, rolled out of bed and doesn't want to be bothered. Besides that it's a great place to go

Place was clean and huge!! However, I believe that they should open earlier, so that people who want to have a nice midday bowling could do so! Food at any of these places are pricey, and the wings are too salty!! But we had fun!!??

Had a wonderful experience while bowling, the food was well made by the chef, she even made accommodations for allergies. The General Manager Bianca was extremely welcoming and made sure my party had a good time. Highly recommend for anyone looking for a place to host parties and/or events.

Came here for a TNBA tournament. The bowling itself was great. Large parking lot. Well maintained alley. They needed more employees tho. Only one bartender and obviously not enough servers because we ordered 2 hotdogs and fries and never received them. I asked the waiter and he said they're making it and he'll bring it when it's ready. It never came and he passed by our lane several times and never stopped again to apologize for no food or give an update. Usually if the waiter walks by he'll be reminded o

Had the best time, my friends Birthday staff was wonderful, all of them Josh, Gabby, Reymond and the Manager Bianca . I have not been bowling in years. I can't wait to go again, such a fun night

The workers are great, the lanes are nice as well but the seating is insane. They've removed the lane seating and instead put a table with 4 chairs per lane. The tables and chairs are so close to the other lanes table that you have to either wait for the table next to you to move their chair in or completely get up in order to pass. On top of that, parties with more than 4 will take over your table and chairs. I was there last night, one person from the other lane refused to move from our table. I literall

A time was had at Garden City Lanes. I thoroughly enjoyed myself. The ambiance, the service, the music were great. Won two of four rounds - not bad considering this was my first time bowling - in years. I found the prices to be overall reasonable and the service was great. Would definitely return & highly recommend. 10/10

The Amf in garden city has been a fave as of lately. We haven't been here in a years, but Bianca and her team are doing the work!!! From clean facilities, hot fresh food, and speedy friendly service! This is how you do it!!!!!

I had a lot of fun here. My boyfriend and I came early so it wasn't very busy. There are a lot of lanes. The music was good. Didn't really care for the cocktails not boozy enough for my blood lol.

No couches to sit on which is a little awkward. It feels like you're sitting directly next to the lane next to you. but fair prices and good experience overall.

Went on a Monday night and had a good time. Loved the unlimited bowling deal. They were a bit understaffed though

It was nice everything worked the shoes were comfortable and it was lively and clean

The best venue and ambient atmosphere which caters great meals, accommodates everyone of different age groups and friendly staff.

Awesome place. Love the customer service. Staff is grate

The bowling experience is average at best, with lots of people who don't know anything about bowling and would run onto the lanes next to you while you're winding up or hovering on the approach area and being disruptive. The lanes are not always oiled. If you're an advanced bowler who is bowling for score or trying to improve your game you may want to go elsewhere. Also, don't bother to order food. I made that mistake last Sunday when I went there with my son. We ordered a sandwich and chicken tenders with

Typically, our experiences here have been great, but during our most recent visit, a waitress offered us water. Normally, they provide a pitcher of water with cups, but this time, it was bottled water without any prior mention that it would be bottled. We were later charged for it, which wouldn't have been an issue if we had been informed upfront. Transparency in such matters is important for maintaining good business practices and avoiding any perception of shady tactics.

So much fun! ??the atmosphere was not crowded and very spacious which I like. There was black lights big tv screens , bar with great liquor selection, arcade, & a fast food area. Great prices to shoes are 6$. If you don't want a packed bowling alley & your in the north shore long island area check this place out.

Love this ?? ?? place and the staff are very friendly. Food is good & drinks as well. Clean bathrooms.

My husband and friends had a fantastic night out here! The customer service was exceptional. The management was warm and welcoming, and our server Tyler was on top of his game, ensuring our food and drinks arrived promptly. This was the best service I've had at a bowling alley in a long time!

Haven't bowled in a while. This was lots of fun. Two hours was enough time for for of us to bowl two games. The only hitch was during the second game a family with two children interested four was placed right next to us. They let the kids wander over even during my approach. Not safe. They were also unmasked.

Place clean, family friendly, not so crowded at 5p.

The experience was fun due to the calm ease environment. The bowling service was fast and quick along with the machines that monitor your bowling. Most of the times the machines give problems but I didn't encounter any. The food service wasn't to quick. Waited quite a while just for one of their cocktails, by the time I got it I was already wrapping up my games. Overall this bowling alley is great to go to.

Nice place for family fun. Reasonable prices and good food and bar options.

AMF is a fantastic bowling alley! The staff are all friendly and professional, the entire bowling alley is always very clean, and the lanes at this location are more consistently oiled than other bowling alleys in the area. The pro shop here is also better stocked than most places with a lot more options for balls and shoes. I love that this location always participates in the seasonal bowling passes since not many other Bowlero/AMF locations do beyond the summer pass. I've never tried the food, drinks, or

We purchased the summer league pass. Great option if u want something fun for the kids to do. Only thing I don't like it's the lack of communication when they have league play and you can't use your passes and they're not honored at other locations. Clean place good food.

Employees were smoking weed while working. I am 7 months pregnant and being in a place of business that allows their employees to smoke in the facility is disgusting. There was kids around also.

So lucky to have Brittany coordinate our surprise party. The venue itself was fantastic, with brightly colored lanes, upbeat music, and a lively atmosphere. The staff were incredibly friendly and accommodating, ensuring that every guest felt welcomed and comfortable throughout our event. Can't wait to plan another party here.

I did a suprise party there for my mom, I choose the king pin package wow I never made a mistake when I choose AMF or that package it was the best thing I did the workers were wonderful everyone was just amazing we were treated like we were real king and queens there, every chance I get am going back thanks guys

Place is old, dark and chairs are uncomfortable. This place looks like it hasn't been renovated since the 1980s. Expensive too.

GC bowling lanes is the home of the best pro shop by far! Their selection of bowling balls and peripherals is fabulous! Paul is extremely knowledgeable, skilled, and seasoned in his trade and quite patient! An all-around nice guy!

The bowling lane was empty at 1st, it felt like an ETERNITY for the pins to show up, and only 3 screens turned on, and WORST of all, "the club 100" scene never showed up when we got over 100 points!

Staff are amazing. Super helpful. This is a great classic bowling alley with very family friendly prices.

I used to come to this spot all the time in the summer as a kid, and decided a bowling game was long overdue. I found a Groupon for 2 hour unlimited play + shoe rentals for four people and was able to easily redeem it on a Sunday afternoon. If you do go the Groupon route they don't allow lane reservations, so def go during off-peak hours. The staff (per receipt it says Eamon M.?) assigning our lane saw my party was cheering on the Rangers by the bar and was able to get us a lane right behind a screen with

Was there for a child's party. Location was clean and the staff was helpful. Food was tasty and the kids had fun so would definitely consider going again!

Had a superb time, they renovated from the last time I visited. Really enjoyed the atmosphere, customer services was great! Bianca was very friendly & attentive and made sure to check on me and my family despite it being really busy. Good food, good times I definitely recommend.

Awesome place to hangout good lanes but not enough ball size selection. it's charged per person and by game, not time after 9pm there is an unlimited bowling deal at $22 on selected nights. I would call for more info .the food there is amazing, especially the pizza and wings really good and the price is right you won't be disappointed.

A Family friendly atmosphere, great staff and ample parking. The kitchen area needs to be updated.

I haven't been here in years. It still look good. I didn't eat nor use the restrooms, those are probably the only things I could really review. The staff was friendly. Parking...there is what seems like a large lot, but on a Friday or Saturday night...you have better luck finding a needle in a haystack ??. The parking felt like you were in Manhattan and not LI. Overall great experience.

Ordered a coke and disaronno because the banner on their TV bowling screen said it was $2. After the girl made the drink she asked for my card and when I got the receipt she charged me $20 for 2 drinks! I showed her the ad on the tv screen and she looked very confused and said "Oh thats for the shots". Then I pointed and showed her the ad. "Special Coke and Disaronno $2". She then said she couldn't do anything about that. $20 for 2 mixed drink at a bowling ally LOL what a joke. Gonna go somewhere else now.

Bowling alley is really nice. Can be tricky to find if it's your first time going there especially at night. Nice staff good beer.

Staff was friendly and helpful. This place is very kid friendly. They had great music and food. I used a Groupon here and it was great deal. I recommend coming here. We'll definitely be back.

I went here for an event and I was very impressed with all the ladies at the bar. One was friendlier then the next. Happy, upbeat and smiling. ????????

Came here for a birthday party with 5 children and 6 adults and we had a blast. The food is great, customer service is lovely and everything is so clean. Will be back to bowl again soon!

Great place for a birthday party. The staff are attentive and helpful. The food is pretty good for both adults and kids and on a Saturday it was amazingly not busy so the kids had fun and so did the adults. Parking is plentiful but remember to get out through the back or else you get caught up in the Mexican restaurant traffic in front.

Had a birthday party for my son 7th birthday and it was nice. He enjoyed.

Service is a little slow but they are friendly. Totally RECOMMENDED

As a bowling alley, it still had the flavor of alleys I played in. I loved the old paper scoring but that is a thing of the past. Place was decent but prices were a bit high for junk food items. No breakdown on the alleys and the 6 family members enjoyed the day. Big distraction of the full screens at end of alleys but otherwise ok.

The manager, bianca was very accommodated, and after our lane kept messing up, she accommodated an hour and a half more to both. We appreciate your service. Thank you all at AMF.

As a league bowler of over 10 years, I've seen many servers come and go. Gisele is BY FAR the best I've ever had the pleasure of ordering from. I always get my drinks faster than I expect, she always checks in and she always so SO nice. She sets the new standard for everyone else to be compared to.

Our league has moved to garden city. Great place. Service is great. Only complaint is they should expand the bar area. Our league loves to hang out and drink after bowling. There really isn't a spot in there to do that.

Been going here for years love it

Great atmosphere our server Gisele is the BEST EVER! She is very attentive and sociable our group comes here often and we really miss days when she's not around. Great service!

Pretty decent spot for bowling. Plenty of parking. Staff are super friendly. For how many people there were at the bowling alley, they only had 1 bartender and 1 bus boy working on a Saturday night. So food and drink service was slow. Also the lane we were on for some reason one pin would always fall over when reseting for the next bowler. Other than that a pretty nice place to have fun.

Amazing top golf garden city love from ???? uk

Held an event here with some co-workers and I have to say from start to finish it was a great experience. Brianna Griffin was the best host ever. From our arrival she was attentive making us feel welcome as well as during the event. Definitely worth hosting a bowling event here.

Honestly not a place I would recommend. The leaves are horrible. They are never oiled. When you tell the front desk of the issues, they just don't care. More than the lanes being horrible especially if you go there to practice for a league, the management does not care to make this better. Highly not recommended

Such an unpleasant experience, the woman who works at the check-in counter really shouldn't be dealing with customers, her attitude is unwarranted and completely unprofessional as she extremely rude to customers. I had to approach the desk multiple times to reset the player amounts as she was less than helpful. Additionally we had a spill near our lane and had to clean it up ourselves with a mop. The entire staff needs an intense training on customer service.

A nice place to come with family or friends to have a fun night out. Good place if you have a large crowd and are looking for an activity to do. Staff is friendly and patient. If you order food the server comes to your table to take your order and then drop it off. I dont recommend the pizza though, it has a weird taste. The nachos are pretty filling, salads good, and of course the fries are delicious

Great to have parties (even in times of covid) or even to just take your family. The food is really good. Service is also very good. Just a note if you do book a party the cookie cake is not huge. We had to order an extra. Very yummy though.

It's ok. Staffs don't really care much. Saw one of them ring something up and void to pocket the cash. Have a big deep scratch on ball. Higher number lanes are garbage.

Staff was attentive and friendly. Our food which was pre-ordered was not ready when we arrived. Not at all busy during the day - just show up and get the summer special pricing. I would definitely skip the food next time - just go for bowling and drinks. Overall, group had a good time.

The guy shut down the lane mid game, then lied and said they don't have the power to turn off lanes. I've been here a bunch of times, guy was full of it. It's also 100 degrees in there. You're lucky if you get your ball back from the return half the time. Go somewhere else to bowl that's worth it.

Great professional grade bowling lanes and decent food options. Parking can be a bit tricky but it all works. The only reason I would not give 5 stars is because they recently changed the seating arrangement to what seems like a downgrade rather than an upgrade to me. There are now tables and chairs strewn across the floor and it makes it more difficult to gain access to the lanes when you have a large group of players. AMF needs to sort this out quickly.

Good service, family friendly area but when attempted to order a tower beer but they were out and was offered three pitcher instead for the same price. Their three pitcher is less then the tower. When we called for the bill the same server charged us for double the price for the actual three pitches. So he was honest but the manager would not honor what was offered to the customer by the staff. Was offered $10 discount or $30 arcade. The manager was a teenager and sticked with his believe and asked me ?did

Took my wife there for date night. It was fun, drinks were delicious. Atmosphere adult and kid friendly.

came to your establishment on labor day... which was my birthday as well... wanted to use my summer bowling pass on the last day of the promotion. White male gentlemen running the front counter told me that the promotion had ended yesterday at 12 am. And would not honor the cards anymore. very disappointed that he would not take care of us.... I usually love coming to your establishment.... everyone else is very friendly and nice.....

Not the garden city lanes I remember from the early/mid 90's. The Lanes now are just par for my liking. It's great if you're just a family night/first date out bowler.

So far so good. I'm happy that there have been no lane breakdowns. Waitresses are nice but politely aggressive. Its hard to resist their charms lol.

I enjoyed this place. The staff was very attentive. There was a wide selection of food and drinks. I would've given them a 5 but a clean bathroom is very important to me. Overall, we had a good time.

Terrible design. They have removed all the seating at the lanes that makes bowling a nice family or group event. It feels like industrial standing room only, w some tables to try to see more apps. Obnoxious TikTok videos playing on the big screen- thats what we are trying to get away from when we go bowling. Place is just impersonal chaos- terrible renovation.

Excellent customer service, the girl that was bringing us our food orders to the table waa a real sweetheart, good food, great drinks , kids had a blast and their weekly deals are great . Had a nice time and very family friendly. Staff made sure my kids had a memorable experience being that we were there for their bday. Will be def going back soon.

I came here 2 weeks ago for my niece Birthday party. Nice place the food is pretty good except the loaded fries. I didn't really like them but other than that I had a nice time.

A good time, the food was tasty and drinks spiritful! The prices were fair!

The customer service was on point. The place appeared to be clean. The lane that I used reset fast and it didn't give any problems. I had a Groupon for two hours of bowling so I had a fun, high energy experience here. I would definitely visit again.

Great, fun environment. Anthony and John were awesome. Great service, they checked on us to make sure we were good and didnt need anything, the accommodated our big party. The wait at the bar was very long. Also the music wasn't playing on one side of the alley, it seems there's an issue with that. This is a good place to bring kids or not and have fun. Theres arcade games as well. Recommend for everyone trying to go out, bowl and have a great time.

Went on a Tuesday night for $2 games and cheap beer and food. It wasn't too packed but there were decent amount of people in. We had fun, but we definitely prefer Syosset location compared to this one. Big pro is that this one is open until midnight tho.

Nice enough house but a few concerns. I think the lane walkups were shortened a bit. Also was given a lane by one of those stupid punching bag games, where young knuckleheads make a lot of noise. House was half empty but they put a family with 2 young children in the next lane and they wandered next to me a few times. I mean if you have the room, spread people out a bit. And of course the weekend lights on all day at Bowlero/AMF houses. Bowling into giant tv screens and hard to see the arrows or pick out t

The food is phenomenal. The staff is great! Love this place!

Definitely a great experience with the work colleagues. Nice place and atmosphere, plus there was a bar. Made everything better.

Frequently Asked Questions

What’s it like visiting an arcade today?

It’s a mix of nostalgia and high-energy fun! Many arcades blend retro classics like Pac-Man and pinball with modern VR games, racing simulators, and rhythm challenges — often with music, lights, and a social vibe.

Is it better to go alone or with friends?

Both can be great! Solo visits let you focus on your favorite games, while going with friends adds competition, teamwork, and laughs. Many people plan arcade meetups as a casual hangout or even date spot.

What should I bring to an arcade?

Usually just yourself and a way to pay (some arcades still use coins, others use cards or apps). If you're competitive, bring your A-game. If you're social, bring friends or meet new ones over multiplayer games.

What’s the best time to visit an arcade?

Weekdays or early afternoons are usually less crowded — perfect for focused play. Evenings and weekends bring the buzz, especially at barcades or venues with DJs, tournaments, or themed nights.

Can I meet new people at arcades?

Absolutely! Arcades attract a mix of casual players and serious gamers. Whether you're jumping into a four-player co-op or chatting between rounds, it's a fun, low-pressure way to connect over shared interests.

Are arcades still just for kids?

Not at all. While many arcades are family-friendly, there are also adult-oriented ones with full bars, 18+ nights, or vintage nostalgia themes. Arcades today cater to everyone — from first-timers to lifelong gamers.

Are there events or tournaments I can join?

Yes! Many arcades host regular competitions, retro nights, cosplay parties, and more. Whether you're into high scores or just want to watch and vibe, events add an extra layer to the experience.

What if I’m not great at arcade games?

No worries — arcades are about having fun, not being perfect. Try a variety of games, ask others for tips, and remember: the vibe is more “let’s play” than “let’s win.”

Why are arcade prize games so exciting to play?

Arcade prize games are a thrilling highlight in 2025! Claw machines, skee-ball, and ticket-redemption games like basketball offer a rush of skill and chance, with rewards like plushies, toys, or electronics up for grabs. Modern machines feature vibrant lights, digital scoreboards, and responsive controls, amplifying the fun. The lively arcade atmosphere, with cheering crowds and buzzing energy, makes every win feel epic.
