If you're looking for affordable summer fun, AMF Bowling has an awesome Summer Pass deal happening right now! There are two pass options, and I went with the more budget-friendly one?just $48 for two games per day plus free shoe rentals. Total steal! ?? The upgraded pass gives you even more perks, like access to any AMF location, discounts on food and non-alcoholic drinks, and arcade game savings. The location I visited had it all: ? A fun arcade ?? Snack bars ?? A full bar with a pool table ?? Super clea

I had my daughter?s 10th birthday here. We purchased the birthday package, and to our surprise, the way they set up everything when the food and drinks came out was great. We expected just to have a pizza placed on the table next to the bowling couches, but they did it in a unique way, with a birthday sign and everything laid out. It was a great place to have a birthday party. The hospitality was also excellent; it felt like they truly cared. We will definitely consider having another party event here or co

Bob and the staff here were incredibly friendly. It was clean and well managed. Food came out quickly and was very good. Great place to bring kids in the summer!

Our first lane had issues with the pins every time they reset, so the staff moved us to another one where we only had one pin with an issue. The shoe rental is expensive and where they make their profit. The bowling ball racks were not very organized, but there were so many available. For the lighter weight bowling balls, it would be nice if they had larger spots to hold them since they don't accommodate everyone's hands. They have some summer passes that offer a good deal if you are interested in frequentl

We had our company Christmas party here and AMF Desert Hills Lanes were fantastic hosts! We had pizza, chicken tenders, fries, nachos, and Bavarian pretzels. I only had the chicken tenders and fries and they were great! Our hostess was very attentive and made us feel welcome. The lanes were not too busy for a Friday. The other guests were quiet and respectable, and the location felt safe. If you're into bowling, pool, or video games, this is a great place to pick up some good food and hang out.

Clean, fun and exciting atmosphere. Staff were friendly and very helpful. Kids had a great time especially in the arcade.

We called them 4-5 times to see if there was a wait before driving all the way here, however, no one answered the phone. We figured we'd drive just to check it out. Upon arrival the place smelt horrible, when we asked the front desk lady (Robin or Robyn not sure how it's spelt) if there was any lanes available and she immediately met us with extreme attitude and was being very rude. I do not recommend coming here. Busy or not you have no right to be rude to someone who did nothing to you!

I been to many bowling alleys , and the employees say one price and the amt is a different story at the end of the night. Educate yiur cashiers better. Thank u

Get a coupon for 23$ per 2 include shoes. But you would need wait 24hrs. Overall good

As a league bowler, weekends we practice. The guy at the desk on Sunday 04/06, has to go. Attitude and rude all the way. It was the 1st time seeing this guy working, but should definitely be his last. I enjoy league and the other staff, but that guy needs to go.

Bought the Birthday Package and had my son?s 7th Birthday Party. Best Party Ever. Food tastes great! Staff was great! Was very surprised and impressed!

I haven't bowled in 20 years. I enjoyed my time here. Very nostalgic. Service was pleasant. Give them a try! ***Note*** Bring sanitation wipes for the holes in the balls. I can feel french fry grease all lubed up into those holes.

We visit this location a lot but had the worst experience tonight. The man with the long white hair was extremely off putting and rude up at the front? He made a weird comment about someone in our party being hard of hearing. Really disgusting behavior. We drive a decent way to come to this location but we will look for other places from now on.

Spend a lot of money there every week. My girlfriend went to ask for a water and 2 guys are just sitting there talking to each other. They eventually acknowledge her and she ask for some water and a dude with a beer belly and white hair tells her to use the water fountain. I understand being fat and working at a bowling alley sucks but maybe get up and get the customer what they ask for.

Celebrated my husband?s 36th birthday here and everyone had a blast! Lots of cool arcade games, large food portions, great service and great bowling lanes!

Took my son and nephew there and spent a awesome 2 hours of bowling together. The staff is amazing from check in and out to the food and bev staff even just proving water and cups was super sweet. My nephew had a great birthday! Thank you!

The place is really clean and the staff are extremely helpful. Came on Saturday afternoon and was able to get a lane quickly. My four year old was given some arcade cards to use which was very nice. The only reason I am giving 4 stars is because our lane was acting weird not dropping pins or dropping them with some falling down. My 4 year old got a strike when she didn't even bowl. Maybe I am bitter I lost to a toddler but the machines need some fixing. Other than that I would highly recommend to anyone who

Our server, Mindy, was amazing!! She was so kind and went above and beyond to help me. I cannot express how amazing her service was!! Nothing but great things to say :)

Had so much fun here. Equipment worked well and shoes clean, seated areas clean, servers great service.

I visited AMF Desert Hills Lanes with my coworkers last Friday, and it was a great experience! The staff was friendly, and the service was excellent. The place was less crowded than I expected, which made for a relaxed and enjoyable evening. Overall, we had a fantastic time and would definitely come back again.

Well I'm not sure if this is going to sound sad pathetic or just straight out honest. I was charged $73 bucks for a Saturday night out "family" (just three due to a messy but very new divorce) night out with my self and two young boys. I had a card that was giving to me when I went in the day prior to ask about the prics and how it all worked. Mainly because I don't have the luxury of spending money on things that are not budgeted for. After being able to get a understanding of the cost and then knowing t

We came to celebrate our dad/grandfather's birthday on Veterans Day evening and had reserved a lane but neglected to mention the reason for our visit. The staff set up our lane with lovely decorations anyways and were so lovely and kind when we asked to change our sign to reflect a happy birthday message. We had a slight snafu with our food order but the staff immediately corrected this and made sure we got the correct items. Lastly we received a beautiful card from management and staff, specifically Jenif

Great little place first time here. Did a renovation. And it is absolutely amazing. Nicely done had a really fun day here with some friends. Would definitely come back nice and clean and good friendly atmosphere. A good place for nice clean fun for the family.

We had a fun time here. This was our annual bowling tournament and we usually hold it at the old Thunderbird location. I had multiple people say they like this location much better and that the food was even better. The microphone did not work very well while we were announcing winners to various drawings but overall it was a fun time for the group. We will definitely be back next year as long as they do not raise the prices like they did this year. It is hard to make money for a charity in a bowling tourna

Had a fun time great experience, cosmic bowling was a blast, and none of the kids were disappointed, smiles for everybody

We had our daughters birthday party here. Couldn't have been nicer. Everyone was very attentive to any thing we needed. Food was great. They had everything set up for us when we got there. Won't hesitate to have more party's here.

Great time with the kiddos. Ate some dinner, bowled and played some games. Food was good, lots of choices, friendly staff and not too crowded on a Friday night.

I recently visited your location and, unfortunately, had a very disappointing experience. While the facilities and lanes were fine, the customer service completely ruined the outing. The receptionist with long hair guy with glasses was shockingly rude from the moment we walked in. When I walked in and talking to him asking for the lane availability I placed my water bottle on table and taking to him he just threw away my bottle in trash and I told him it's mine they he is just showing a sign which is pasted

Featuring a pretty cool, little arcade is always a big plus! We'll certainly come back the next time we visit AZ.

Signed up for a make up league session. 10/27/24. The manager won't turn the alley lights on for astethic purposes. We cannot see the line arrows at all. It's 5:30 pm. No mood lighting is needed. Manager lacked customer service skills. Going somewhere else next time. Do not recommend.

We decided on bowling last minute with some friends and our kiddos to escape the heat and have some fun. I'd say overall it was an enjoyable experience and entertaining for the children. It was a Saturday early afternoon so we all bought the "special" which included 3 games of bowling. The food menu has improved and I would recommend getting the sampler! There is lots of food for everyone to share including the kids. The music was not too loud and they definitely played some good tunes. After bowling we ext

They have some work to do. The lanes do break down too often. The bathroom does smell quite a bit. And they did raise prices on alcohol so where it's kind of like you're at a ballpark buying a beer. The staff is nice enough and they fix the lanes pretty quickly when they break down though.

I can't say enough about our visit... We came to celebrate my granddaughters 6th birthday and everyone was so kind and helpful. The kids had a great time and Vicki was amazing! She made sure to greet us and then check with us when we were done bowling. Fun place to bring the kids for a party or just some family fun!

Exciting environment/place to hang out. Music was fabulous and fun to dance to. They have a small arcade, bar, billiards, and bowling (obviously.)

Read the reviews before I came and my experience reinforced a lot of them. Bar was solid, on top of things and made sure things were right. The bowling financial experience wasn't as great. When I came in guy said $5.99 per game and I showed him my shoes. I bowled what I thought and tallied as 7 games with all 7 scores. When I went to cash out they (different person at that point to their defense) said it was 10 games at $7+ a game. Eventually they did right and I paid what I should have and I super apprec

$185 for my family to go for two hours, the lanes are terrible we slipped the whole time which was not ideal for someone with bad knees. The service was good just overpriced for terrible lanes.

Great place to have fun... $20 for unlimited rounds... When we had an issue ..it was promptly addressed by employee.. And we were given free beverages for the wait... Amf is my go to destination for fun!!!

The website states from 11 AM to 6 PM all week, They have a spring break discounts yet they aren't even open. No one answers.

Friendly staff. Clean location. Had a great time!

I hosted a bowling night for our employees here and the venue was really great! It was easy to reserve online and they had the food and drink options we selected set up nicely for us when we arrived. It was a great night, everyone had fun, and I highly recommend hosting your event here!

Great bowling alley/environment. I've been coming here for a few months - staff has always been friendly and made me feel welcome. The Summer/Fall passes are a great value as well!

A great place to relax and have fun with your friends. Their unlimited bowling games deal is the best. The staff is very generous and nice as well. They are very straight forward and willing to help you out if something goes wrong. If you're looking for a good bowling alley, this is the place.

If you book online, you get unlimited bowling for $25 a person. If you walk in and go bowling, they charge you five dollars a game per person. I played six games bought two beers and got two shoe rentals and it cost me $111.00? When I brought this up with the people at the front desk, they said well that's only online and we can't do anything about that. This feels like robbery to me. I will never come back to a bowlero ever again. Also, the balls are weird, their shoes don't fit well, overall the service

It's okay. Food was good, the pool was expensive and the balls were pretty tore up.

It was fun being there with friends and enjoy your time off everything else....

I did have an issue but the district manager reached out to me. He was so nice and explained how my issue was being addressed. I will definitely try the alley again. I am 100% sure it was an off night for this particular location and the other 5 star reviewers are right. Thank you Miguel for taking the time to hear me out and demonstrating excellent customer service! I enjoyed speaking to you.

Great place to bowl whether you're with the family, bowling league, or need some practice. They've got you covered. Great staff. Competitive pricing. And clean well maintained atmosphere.

We had an awesome bday for our 8 year old. The staff was very helpful and nice.

Took 45 mins to receive drinks after ordering when it wasn't full

We like to bowl as a family. We were greated by friendly staff. We were assigned a lane and had a nice night bowling. We didn't have any big issues, although the two lanes next to us had issues with the bowling balls being returned. The one snag was that the game session would end prior to the last person bowling their tenth frame.

This location is by far the best AMF I've been to. The staff is always in good moods and doing everything they can to make sure customers are happy and want to come back. The food is up to par while still being reasonably priced and the drinks are impeccable. Would definitely recommend to anyone in the area.

Should be started clearly what regular bowling prices are, not just specials

From the outside this place looks sketchy but inside is so fun! The arcade was amazing, my kids had a blast. The workers there were tentative and nice, bowling was so much fun! I just wasn't a fan of the food, but I'm picky so don't take my word on it lol

There are plenty of bowling alleys and the atmosphere is good. Only reason for deducting a star is that their tvs distract from being able to see the bowling lines that help with guiding you. The tvs are cool but maybe add lighting to better see the lane.

Been bowling here since back when it was AMF always a good trip

AMF Desert Hills Lanes is a great neighborhood bowling alley! The prices are reasonable compared with other Bowlero locations, and the summer deals are awesome! The staff is friendly, and the lanes are clean. The arcade area is tight on space, but there are a good variety of games to choose from!

This place was totally awesome everybody was so nice and so friendly. The environment was awesome it had everything we needed.

We had so much fun! It was clean and the staff were great n would help out if needed!! Great place to go as family. We'll be back!

Bowling was a super fun experience and the loaded fries were amazing. The reason this place deserves 2 stars is the burdensome customer service provided by a male at the front desk Friday may 5, 2023. The music is super loud in there (which is a great vibe) however, I asked this man a simple question, he answered and I said ?what? because I couldn't hear him over the music and he straight up yelled at me. I do understand that I needed him to repeat what he said but he did not have to yell at me in that tone

Had a Groupon and chose exactly the start of league bowling on Sunday night (that's 5pm) to walk in the door. So, it was super crowded and loud, which is almost better than being somewhere empty and sad. We put our names on an hour long wait-list, ordered food for the kids and it only took about 5 minutes after the food came. It took exactly 2 hours for 6 not good bowlers to get through 2 games so it was perfect. It was clean, everything worked, and the staff was friendly. Great buy for the money! The lane

The customer service in this place is quite poor. The staff is very abrasive and unwelcoming and often nowhere to be found. If you come to play with friends and family they force a large group of people to all play in one lane even though they have many open lanes that don't get used for hours while you are there. I used to play league here and the staff used to be nice. Since they changed staff this place has gone down hill regardless of their recent remodel. I have given this place many chances but won't

All I have to say was we had fun for sure but for 2 adults and 2 kids it cost $97 and that is ridiculous! At least the drinks were fairly priced, but the $97 for the 4 of us was also a deal they had going on. Soooooo wouldn't recommend.

Hadn't been here in awhile came to hang out with family for a birthday. Very clean lobby menu was impressive and cost didn't seem to be affected by remodel

Great place to spend time with family. The staff is really friendly and more then willing to help you out if you have problems. Good pricing for the area. Great music is always playing both modern and older music. The down side is it took a long time to order some soft drinks. Once I was finally able to order took a long time for her to run my credit card she looked like she didn't know what she was doing when it came to running the computer system.

The atmosphere is pretty nice but the serving staff is pretty bad.

Good atmosphere. Service is usually a bit slow, but most alleys seem that way. Now the most important part: The lanes need updating in the worst way. Pin setters leave loose rack constantly. Balls gets stuck on a daily basis. I know its expensive but I wish they would update the lanes. Staff is good overall.

The atmosphere here is great, the service was awesome and the perfect vibe for a Saturday night. Affordable too. Definitely will return to play more

Used a Groupon with my wife. We went during the day and had maybe a 10 minute wait. Had fun and enjoyed my date, even though I lost badly.

Came here with my husband and a couple friends. Well we came for the bowling but stayed much longer, because the Bartender Jessica was amazing, Super friendly, even made us some kind of vodak shot which WE LOVED!!! Definitely going back and not for the bowling ?? but for those shots!!!

I brought my family here today at around 610; we live in the neighborhood, and we just wanted to bowl. I felt so taken aback by the Service received when we were told we wouldn't be able to play and tried to inquire more information. I attempted to obtain more information, but the lady at the counter with glasses (Jennifer) was not very helpful and seemed like we were more of a burden. I understand leagues take priority over general customer play but trying to get a cognitive understanding of when we could

At the end of our 36-week long league, we were looking forward to the last position round. Could not get decent practice in as the lanes would continually drop pins trying to rack. Into the first frame had to be moved to another pair of lanes. Ownership upgraded the scorers and is working on the seating, but we have yet to see attention to the lanes.

Very rude employee, Steve B was terrible and prices were very pricy. Not very clean.

I read the reviews and thought about voiding this place... however I'm glad I took a chance to experience on my own. WE HAD A GREAT TIME and the staff was wonderful to us. Most important "CLEAN"

My nephew had his 6th birthday party here and it was pretty cool the way they do birthday parties. I didn't know that was a thing. Good job on that . I didn't really interact with employees but everyone seemed pleasant. By no fault their own, this place has become somewhat downtrodden due to the unsavory characters who inhabit the parking lot and circle k next door so I would probably not be visiting in evening . But this is a long time neighborhood business and I hope they clean up the neighborhood someday

Nice little bowling alley. The food is good. They need more staff in this area and it is rather pricey.

Was not that crowded and yet they still managed to put people side by side and leave two lanes empty in-between. makes for a longer game and it is hard bowling next to people with no manners. (maybe post something with bowling manners on lanes.)

Clean Establishment Good Spot to chill with someone

It was a very nice opportunity to share an afternoon with my son at the birthday party of one of his school friends. If it wasn't for its mediocre food, this place would have rated a higher mark.

Celebrated my birthday here and Jeremy(Manager) is the man! He made sure we were set all night. And personally thanked us for coming in. Bowling alley was clean and employees were prompt. Drinks and food were great!

They have completely remodeled this location, so much nicer and comfortable now. When getting our lane and shoes we were informed you don't go to the snack bar nor the bar to order anymore that someone will come to you. We get to our lane and wait for someone to come for about 10 mins nobody came so we went to the bar and asked, he also said someone would come to you. He finally got to us and was great... about an hour and a half into being there we noticed some lanes had these red lights on by the scoreboa

Horrible.. if I could give negative points I would. Online it says 3.08 a game after 6 pm. We went because of that. They don't tell you it is $6 per person per game for shoe rental OR that they DO NOT honor the online price when it is prime time! Jennifer at the desk, she is a whole different issue. She is the most ungrateful, disrespectful customer service person I have ever dealt with. She point blank told our friends she didn't care about the business after we all said we would not return to that locati

Our bowling experience was so great! We went for a friends birthday and Jeremy was the most helpful. The bartender poured the drinks just right, the pizza and wings were surprisingly delicious for bowling alley food, and the deal for the two hours and all the food was unbeatable! Will return for sure :)

The crew you have there at AMF is amazing. Sam and Jess exemplify what having great customer service can do to add to a wonderful experience. They made me and my friends bowling time so rewarding.

the shoes seem pretty new which is nice, the ball size is good to the medium size 8 is perfect I cant never seem to find a good size house ball but they had one which is nice. overall pretty nice.

Great experience. This is one of the cleaner and more updated bowling alleys. Service is friendly. They no longer have a real food/snack bar so it is a bit strange having to order food from the little bar window. They had several staff member walking around cleaning off tables which was nice because the areas were always clean.

The manager was completely rude and racist. I forgot my id and my husband brought the alcohol. She saw him hand it to me. I didn't drink anything. She sent an employee over to take the drink and didn't refund the money. Because she said on the cameras she saw me drink it. She completely lied they didn't even have cameras. It was kids that were 17 drinking next to me. I didn't say anything. I just called the police. Please if you are any mind if race other than white, DO NOT GO HERE. THEY WILL FIND ANY REASO

We had our team builder here, and the staff was amazing. They were polite and friendly. They joked with us and helped us with our every need. They made our team builder great.

Downside was ordering drinks using the app. It took about 2 games with 4 bowlers to get drinks. This was due to the location unable to serve drinks with grapefruit juice. I ordered a Paloma. So because of this, the other drinks for the rest of our party weren't made until I was asked to select something else. I'm not a bartender, so I ordered vodka and Cranberry juice (cape cod). So you can guess my overall experience. Lol

Frequently Asked Questions

What’s it like visiting an arcade today?

It’s a mix of nostalgia and high-energy fun! Many arcades blend retro classics like Pac-Man and pinball with modern VR games, racing simulators, and rhythm challenges — often with music, lights, and a social vibe.

Is it better to go alone or with friends?

Both can be great! Solo visits let you focus on your favorite games, while going with friends adds competition, teamwork, and laughs. Many people plan arcade meetups as a casual hangout or even date spot.

What should I bring to an arcade?

Usually just yourself and a way to pay (some arcades still use coins, others use cards or apps). If you're competitive, bring your A-game. If you're social, bring friends or meet new ones over multiplayer games.

What’s the best time to visit an arcade?

Weekdays or early afternoons are usually less crowded — perfect for focused play. Evenings and weekends bring the buzz, especially at barcades or venues with DJs, tournaments, or themed nights.

Can I meet new people at arcades?

Absolutely! Arcades attract a mix of casual players and serious gamers. Whether you're jumping into a four-player co-op or chatting between rounds, it's a fun, low-pressure way to connect over shared interests.

Are arcades still just for kids?

Not at all. While many arcades are family-friendly, there are also adult-oriented ones with full bars, 18+ nights, or vintage nostalgia themes. Arcades today cater to everyone — from first-timers to lifelong gamers.

Are there events or tournaments I can join?

Yes! Many arcades host regular competitions, retro nights, cosplay parties, and more. Whether you're into high scores or just want to watch and vibe, events add an extra layer to the experience.

What if I’m not great at arcade games?

No worries — arcades are about having fun, not being perfect. Try a variety of games, ask others for tips, and remember: the vibe is more “let’s play” than “let’s win.”

Are retro games in arcades still good in this modern age?

Absolutely, retro games in arcades remain a thrilling draw in 2025! Classics like Pac-Man, Space Invaders, and Street Fighter II offer simple yet addictive gameplay, blending nostalgia with timeless challenge. Modern arcade cabinets often feature crisp displays and restored controls, enhancing the experience. These games thrive on quick reflexes and strategy, with vibrant pixel art and iconic soundtracks that spark joy. Arcades host tournaments and leaderboards, fostering a lively community. While modern games dominate, retro titles provide a unique, accessible thrill that keeps arcades buzzing.

Are pool tables in arcades still good in this modern age?

Yes, pool tables in arcades remain a fantastic draw in 2025! Games like 8-ball or 9-ball offer tactile, skill-based fun that blends strategy and precision. Modern tables feature smooth felt, responsive cues, and vibrant designs, enhancing the classic experience. Arcades foster a social vibe with casual matches or competitive tournaments, appealing to all skill levels. Unlike digital games, pool’s physicality—lining up shots, feeling the cue’s weight—keeps it timeless.
