The finest arcade in the central US (probably the entire US) if you are looking for Japanese Candy Cabinets. Unbelievable selection. What a hidden gem Denver has here! Well worth a visit. Plan on a couple hours tho. SOO many fun games to play and the machines are in immaculate condition!
Went last week. I had never been. the two bartenders were both really nice and provided good service. Played a couple games. they don't have the biggest liquor selection depending on what you're into but they still had enough I suppose. they have some fun japanese Liquors and liqueurs and beers that you don't see real often, they have fun sounding unique signature drinks made with those. I suppose that kind of makes up for not having the biggest selection of the more well-known traditional Liquors
Place was dope. Really snowy tonight but it was still packed, so I feel it's a tight community. Fun games there was a tournament, good drinks, the images makes it look smaller than it actually is, imo. Definitely rivals 1up...I'd say it's more for the serious gamer. Only complaint, I didn't like how one of the bar tenders talked to me, so that threw me off (reason for 4 stars. I was a little in this shortkings way, but somehow I wasn't in the way of the other bar tenders "excuse me, can i have you move ove
One of the best arcades I've ever been to and one of my favorite places to hang out. Really good game selection, especially if you're into fighting games. The drinks are good as well and reasonably priced.
I'm from out of town and this place is what I have been looking for my whole life! Every modern arcade game you'd want plus a whole room dedicated to fighting games of all types. The bar is full of beer, Japanese whiskey, sour beer, seltzers, frozen drinks, and some snacks. This place is somewhere I'd want to live in if I actually lived around here.
I've had mixed experiences here ? on a recent visit, I felt ignored at the bar and brushed off when I tried to politely get the bartender?s attention. He later explained he was focused on another customer, which I can respect, but the way it was handled felt dismissive and unnecessarily tense. I'm not sure if it was just an off night, but it didn't feel great. Hoping for a better vibe next time.
I love this place. People rate the bar bad because there's on average 50-75 people at one go inside the arcade place and it's super small. I have seen the staff at the bar laugh and talk well but also be rude to me. I don't out it past them because this is. One hell of a job considering everything it comes with it. If you think the staff are rude at bar it's likely due to your sheer presence. Just saying. Never had issues but sometimes the bar staff aren't in the mood for certainty people. Don't rate it bad
Super fun! Drinks are good and not too expensive and there's a huge array of games to play and a lot of them are just a quarter or 2 to play. Plus this is the closest you'll get to a Japanese arcade besides actually going to Japan and visiting an arcade there. Been here a few times and will definitely keep going back.
You cannot go wrong with games, drinks, and a good time by coming here. I have loved this place since 2017 and every time I'm in town, I have to visit. Akihabara is loved by many and it aims to bring a good time to every day patrons and the fighting game community. If you live in the Denver area, or are a visitor, you will not be disappointed by visiting Aki!
Amazing place, if you're on the fence about it just go. I don't understand most of the games either but it's hella fun. I happened to run into some regulars there, sounds like this place has a cool little regular community and they have events like fighting game tournaments. Bartender (Rudy) was super friendly and welcoming, especially after I told him I was visiting. They have quarter machines that take $5 and $1 bills.
The drinks always slap! This spot is one of the coolest gigs to bring a friend, group, or date! Arcades from wall to wall. Anime on the TV monitors. Karaoke stage. Clean bathrooms with hot water! Change machines for play tokens. The whole 9 yards.
A fun vibe. A neon wonderland of Japanese arcade games with great drinks at their bar. They have beer, japanese whiskey, shots, and anime themed cocktails from $6-$8. They also serve instant ramen if you get hungry. Classics such as tekken, street fighter; DDR, and air hockey side by side with new game releases are available to play. They also host tournaments on occasion. Open til midnight, check it out for your next hang out.
This place is awesome! Unique, one of a kind arcade bar in the Denver Metro area. Good drinks and many game options = great time for all!
This place is amazing. Seems well maintained and fairly clean. Small, but so many great games packed in. We went recently and have been back a few times already. It is a bit of a drive for us, but worth it. Staff is kind and helpful.
The drinks here are picture-worthy! I don't personally drink and had an awesome time here. My girlfriend loved her drink. We had a blast here for a quick date night. There were a few machines that weren't working and ate up our quarters but aside from that, there were so many new games we got to experience.
This place is amazing. Awesome mix of arcade games you can't find anywhere else. Loved all the candy cabs and the beat em up selection is solid. I'm not a big fighting game fan and I still had a blast with the other game types. We will definitely go back.
Didn't see any food or need any service. Walked around once to get our bearings. 21 and up after 9pm. Quarters accepted to play. Drink options. Lots of vs games. Felt clean with a nice open feel. Nice variety of games. Looks like they also host tournaments?
So. So. Cool. We came by on a Saturday night from around 9-11 and it wasn't crazy packed, there were plenty of open games to play and the more popular games didn't have much of a wait at all. The drinks were a little small but really good and not crazy overpriced. The Cinnamon Toast Crunch shot was really good too. There are also vendors in a side room showing off their artwork which I thought was great, the artwork was original and they were very talented. It's a bit of a drive for us but we'll be back for
I love this spot! It's a go to whenever friends are in town. They have an amazing selection of games (rhythm, fighting, racing, shooting etc) as well as an awesome variety of drinks at the bar! You can easily spend a few hours here with only $20
Usually don't write reviews unless i have a reallly bad or really good experience to be honest, in this case i have every single time here had a huge 50/50 where the place, drinks and games are great!!! 10/10!! 5 stars! Love love the environment and games a lot! - Every single time i feel like one of the staff members catches a huge attitude with me or a friend i've brought... i get a bad night or like situational stuff with a bad crowd but like seriously eventually every single time i leave this place me o
Great selection of different arcade games at an excellent price. If you're into fighting or rhythm games, you're going to have a good time. Their drink selection is vast and delicious. I love the themed cocktails. I just wish Miku in the Taiko game would stop trying to kiss me.
1UP offers a variety of incredibly fun games with a fun, spacecraft themed setting. The games offer great value. While the interior aesthetic is thoughtful crafted, I do feel the arcade would provide a more intimate, closed in feel by decreasing the brightness. Personally the close quarter, dark and intimate atmosphere of the ball park 1UP is inviting more inviting with a more retro feel. Overall 1UP Westminster is a great location for fun and competition.
One of the best Barcades in the country and the best in Colorado area, competitive tournaments are held here and plenty of casual options with many classic fighting games.
Old school arcade with new school games. This place has a great feel to it. All the games I played work great. Has a couple of the drinks on the menu and they were really good. Loved the whiskey sour. Looking forward to going back.
Super fun place to blow some quarters!
Akihabara Arcade and Bar in Westminster is a dream come true for any anime and gaming lover like me. The moment you walk in, you're hit with neon lights, anime murals, and the nostalgic sounds of retro arcade games. They have a killer selection from DDR to rare Japanese imports?and the themed cocktails are super fun. They provide food trucks during events, and have muchies as well. It's a great place to hang with fellow fans, when you can't afford a trip to Japan, the vibe and community make it worth while.
Lots of fun games. Different variety. Good vibes. Def could kill some time enjoying some retro gaming. Going to miss this place. 10/10
Went to order a drink and the female bartender with glasses and an undercut was rude from the start and clearly did not want to be there. Would?ve let it fly, but my friend said they had the same experience with her in the past. The other female bartender on duty March 8th wasn't much better. Otherwise a great spot, but won't be tipping these individuals next time.
Bri and Rudy are great bartender's. Be patient they will get to you as fast and friendly as possible. Especially for a weekend. They have a lot of fun arcade games. I had a blast on the fighting games and so much more! Fun adult date night
From Northern VA DC metro area, I am impressed with the place. Great service Good drinks with great prices A lot of arcades to play Very friendly staff Diverse customers Cosplay is welcomed Clean bathroom ATM available if need cash to get coins Arcades use quarters Foods are just ramen, good to keep stomach full in between drinks Easygoing place with no negatives of typical dive bars Recommend!
Hands down the best arcade i have had the chance to experience!! the game variety was absolutely top tier some of the rarest and most unique games out there! the drink were all video game/anime themed and delicious! I would definitely recommend skipping Dave and busters and giving this BANGER of an arcade a shot!!
Themed drinks, ramen, Rythm games, nicest staff ever, cheap games, fighting games, really friendly community, food trucks outside (sometimes), what a pleasant gem and it's in the middle of Colorado what?! We don't have this in the bay or Chicago. Come here and have fun it's a pleasant surprise. Bring cash, games are about $1 per game and there's a change machine that gives you quarters. It's so worth it, I'm writing this review after sitting here for 6 hours and I'm eating ramen. Shoutout for my friend Ch
One of the most unique arcades in Colorado. My favorite arcade to go to hands down. Always great staff, great environmental and great selection of games that are kept up well. Occasional competitions as well
I didn't order any drinks, so I can't rate those, but I played some games and bought a gatchapon! The assortment of games is good for a smaller arcade (smaller compared to places like 1up) and the prices are reasonable. A few cons: the change machines only take $1 and $5 bills, one of the 2 UFO catchers wasn't accepting quarters, and the gatchapon require tokens that cost a total of $6 for one item. I did get the hello kitty figure I wanted, but that was sheer luck. The game selection is great! Initial D, T
If you love arcades, come here. If you have always wanted to sit and plan on a Japanese arcade machine, come here. They even have awesome Japanese only arcade games like "Cho Chabudai Gaeshi" (Super Dinner Table Flipping!) And Monkey Ball with the original Banana stick. They do tournaments here too which is awesome and builds a great community of fellow gamers! And to keep you going they have a bar. Compared to other bars, the drinks are not super over priced and have a good selection too. Check them out fo
We've been coming here for the last year and love it! The game variety means there's a little something for everyone, and I feel like I'm always trying something new! Love the niche and probably hard to find rhythm games. The drinks are great and the staff is always super friendly :) Quick edit to add: we would love if there were more karaoke nights! Saw the ad for NYE cosplay karaoke and wish I'd been following the FB page for the info. So if you're the owner and reading this - more karaoke pls
Very awesome arcade. I feel I walked into a part of Japan. If you love anime, and love to game, this is the place to go. And if you're of age, they got some cool names for cocktails. Totally worth checking out.
Great Japanese arcade and bar! Super friendly staff and unique games. We love coming here every time we are in town!
As a Japanese arcade fan I am surprised that you got these machines here, I guess the tariff and transportation fee is sky high though. The token in Tokyo usually cost 100 yen, but here 0.25 usd = 36 Yen, even the large $1 game = 145 yen which usually cost 300 yen in Tokyo. Lastly, if any chance get you get the?Dynasty Wars?and?Warriors of Fate?? These two seems like a must have in my early memory ???????
The waitress was rude and aggressive toward our group. The atmosphere felt very unwelcoming, and we felt attacked by our cultural background.
Tonight was my first experience at Akihabara. Gamers, this is the place for you. I have never been to a Japanese arcade, but this is the closest I have ever seen??. Every fighting game you think of(tekken tag, tekken7, sf3, sf6, kof, dbz, skullgirls, mk3, many others....). Some of the games are one of a kind and are very hard to find (Ghost and Ghouls, Luigi's Mansion, Typing of the Dead, Initial D, Monkey Ball, and so much more??). The service was great. I was welcomed by the bartender, and he explained a
This was a fun stop before going to see a movie. Great drink prices and lots of fun games, we could have spent hours in here. Will definitely be coming back!
Rude staff. Especially last night idk what made all of their days so bad but they decided to take it out on the customers at the bar. Just go to 1-UP the arcade games are cheaper, it's not as packed, staff is super cool, and drinks are better.
Obviously not a food establishment, but the place is amazing! ?? Great ambiance, tons of nostalgia, and the servers have the vibe! Only been there a handful of times but I will definitely keep going!
I love this arcade bar so much! The games take quarters which gives me a way to use up all my change, the drinks are delicious and the games are super fun! Love playing air hockey here! Also the atmosphere is AMAZING and feels so welcoming and cozy every time! The service is great and the staff are always very nice!
One of the coolest places I've ever been after leaving new mexico. Genuinely a great place to watch anime, play some new and old arcade games and have a drink
Very fun place and the games are not over priced. I stayed for about 2 hours and spent about $14 on games. Plenty of selection from the bar and tasted great. Definitely will come back. My favorite game is the Wacca music game. Super fun!
This may be my favorite place in the entire world. I love the staff, the drinks, the snacks, the game selection, and the people who visit this bar. If I was rich I would franchise this place. I go out of my way all the time to drive over an hour to be here. I come for every holiday, every free night I have. I am so happy at this arcade and have never had a bad experience. The bartenders are WONDERFUL!!! If I could, I would move to westminster to spend all my time here.
I took my little cousin here for her bday. Ordered drinks before her and here bf did.. asked my cousin to get me a drink, then the guy behind the bar that saw me order my drinks originally comes asking me for my ID. Extremely rude, maybe don't drink while your working.
Really cool place! Great atmosphere and games, some really fun unique arcade machines. We didn't catch her name, but the blonde bartender was super nice! Only issue was my friend accidentally bumped into one of the other employees and he flipped off my friend. Super not cool. I've worked in service for a while and I understand shit can be frustrating and everyone has bad days but this felt really aggressive and unnecessary. Will probably come back but this soured our night. :/
Pretty cool place lots of people Lots of games to play. Classic arcade with quarters is currency. Definitely a cool spot to check out.
This place is awesome so many different games and authentic old-school Japanese arcade style. Bar has great drinks and you can buy Raman cups and Japanese snacks! 21+ after 9pm. A group of 5 of us went and had a great time. Extracting cash for quarters was a little difficult because the atm only spits out $20?s and the change machine only accepts $5?s, so you have to go to ATM, then to The bar to break the $20 then the change machine. Other than that, we had a blast really cool spot!
Fun place to hang out. A pretty good selection of games. Some machines like the vending machine and the claw machine but staff is friendly and quick to get your change back. Also ramen is pretty good but a little high on price. Overall a good experience. Hope to return soon
This is one of the sickest spots in town. We go on our free time, for special occasions and when we have people in from out of town. The game selection is diverse, but stays true to the old school games, giving it a nostalgic feel. I'd say the play price is worth it and we usually stay for a pretty good chunk of time, I mean, it can be hard to leave! The cocktail menu is named after video game characters and from the handful I've actually tried, they taste awesome as well, but can be a little pricey dep
Incredible spot with every fighting game you could want on actual arcade hardware. Great staff and drinks, my go-to for Friday nights
An amazing little place. Price-per-play is amazingly reasonable, and they have a ton of saught-after japanese titles ready to play. We'll definitely be back!
This place is amazing, their Halloween parties are always a blast! And the drinks are really good. I love the lighting and the vibes are always welcoming. Fun place to go for the weekend.
The bar staff was rude to me each time I went in. Almost aggressively so. At this point I just play the games and try to ignore the staff as much as possible
I've been coming here for the last 4 years and I'm shocked that I haven't left a review. This place is amazing. They offer a wide variety of Japanese arcade games from fighting games to dance dance revolution and everything in between. The arcade games are also cheap and affordable. Don't even get me started about the staff, they're always ready to help and make your experience fun and exciting. Everyone is always helpful and friendly. The atmosphere is super chill and I always feel welcome here. I'm defini
Brought my son here with a few of friends for his birthday and had a blast! I messaged Akihabara beforehand to make sure it was okay and they were very swift with replying! Sierra went above and beyond in helping us have a great birthday experience. The games were fun, we also order ramen which we had a few varieties to choose and it was so tasty. I had an adult beverage the demon slayer drink which was absolutely delicious. The games were fun most games were only a quarter so that's awesome lots of games t
Amazing atmosphere and even better food. Will be back again for sure! 10/10
Hoku and Rudy are the absolute best bartenders!! Nothing but love and good vibes at this place. Great place for games drinks and good times. A must try for anyone in the metro area and beyond!!!
This place absolutely rules. Cheap if not free games, good selection of beers and Japanese whisky, and a pretty awesome, super diverse crowd that hangs out there. All the bartenders are amazing as well. Rudy and Skye are the nicest humans I can recall meeting for awhile. They're gonna get tired of seeing my stupid face in there I can tell you that. 10/10 no notes. Ok 1 note, I lied. Would love to see Mark of the Wolves especially since we're 6 months out from a new one... Anyway if you like obscure Japanes
This place was SO MUCH FUN! A really awesome array of games and some that I didn't even know existed! I will say, bring a good amount of quarters because you're not gonna wanna stop checking out their games. I'm a sucker for music and rhythm games, so I definitely got my fill here. My friends and I stayed playing for much longer than we expected. Overall, it was a total vibe and I can't wait to go back! I didn't have anything to eat so I didn't rate at all.
Been here since the grand opening and the evolution is insane with this place. It just keeps getting better and more friendly!
An amazing arcade! It's just like the GIGO arcades in Japan. The drinks are priced reasonably and very delicious. The arcade games are also priced reasonably, and maintained well. Things are clean and the staff is kind. I like that they have hand sanitizer an ATM and coin machines. This place is an amazing 3rd place to spend time with friends and hang out. I love the new train game that simulates the JR lines.
Great spot to enjoy games and affordable drinks. Staff is always super welcoming!
This place is run by somebody who truly understands the point of an arcade in 202X. Coin op, amusement only, most of the machines are genuine CRT units and the tubes are in amazing condition. If you know, you know. The blue raspberry slushie is actually warhead flavor, it's so sour it will burn the lining off the inside of your mouth. 10/10
Very specific vibe. Lots of Japanese arcade machines. Great drink prices.
Think I may have accidentally left the mask to my Halloween costume here over the weekend. I have called numerous times to confirm, but there is only dial tone and no way to leave a voicemail. Don't live close enough or I would just swing by and check. This is an awesome place and I would give it 5 stars across the board if there was any way to get ahold of them.
love this place! employees are chill and very nice, games are so much fun, and the prices are reasonable. huge bonus that they sell e-amusement cards for the rhythm games!
Cool little place with nice decor and lots of fun games. Unfortunately, the bar tenders are slow and pretty rude. Waited 20 minutes to be helped. Seemed like the bar tenders were friends with people that kept coming up after me.
A special little place where you can let your inner Otaku out, play some classic arcade games with friends, and have a drink!
Rude bartender, weak drinks, machines that shut off and ate money. Bartender warned us if it happened again on that machine he wouldn't be responsible. Nice to drink and play arcade games but the hospitality here could use improvement.
I was pleasantly surprised to find that this establishment did NOT have regular "American" arcade games...all of the games are actually in Japanese!! It gives the place an entirely different feel, and it's fabulous! The bar serves a wide array of drinks, but they focus on sak? drinks to keep with the atmosphere. They also have league e-sport competitions going on. This place is great, and I highly recommend for a night out of gaming.
Not a big bar person but this place was great. They have some good games and the drinks were good. I had the pac man and the wife had the princess peach. Only complaint was they were really weak.
A fun place to spend a few hours when you want to go out, but the bar scene isn't really your type. Games and delicious cocktails with fun names. Drinks were sugary and we didn't catch a buzz, but they had red bull and so I was happy. Prices were affordable for drinks and games. It was cold inside, but very cute Japanese style
Absolutely delightful place. I don't even speak Japanese but all the games are pretty intuitive. The people here are all incredibly kind and helpful, including the patrons. If you're going to an arcade in Denver (or really wherever) go here.
Best place in all of Colorado, hands down. Miss that nostalgic feeling of discovering the arcade for the first time? Never got to experience the joy of Japanese CRT cabinets? Forgot to eat and crave a cup noodle? Look no further. Akihabara has you covered!
Finally!! What an awesome concept! Thank you so much for building this bar! Really fun hangout for anyone looking for a nerd hangout or just something different. Machines are fun and only A QUARTER (thank you!!). Plenty of open space to sit or mingle if not playing one of the arcades. Drink prices are really good, on point with the rest of Westminster and taps are ??. Two things :: 1) I will HAPPILY revise this once your bartenders figure it out. I get it was busy but I was standing at the bar for 15 minu
First time here, completely enjoyed the whole thing, drinks and arcade games, what else could you ask for? Game theme mixed drinks, pretty good variety of games. 2025: it's been a bit over a year since I've been here. A few new drinks and new games, but still the same vibe. -More of a personal thing but please keep Puyo Puyo Tetris as a permanent game
This place is amazing the bartenders are great and the place is awesome would highly recommend it for people of all ages!
Excellent vibes. I came here for the FGC and stayed for the games. The atmosphere is excellent and I think I got depression after I left lol. The bartenders gave me free water as well!
I don't really understand the reviews saying that the bar staff are rude, I've been coming here weekly for a few months and have had zero negative interactions with them. The drinks are always really good and I love the selection of rhythm games that this arcade has
Great arcade bar which is always fun to visit. Lots of rare/Japan-exclusive arcade games, including many rhythm games and fighting games, all of which can be played for one dollar or less. Lots of creative cocktails at a decent price. Fun events held fairly often.
Went in with my brother yesterday to check it out. Seemed like a really relaxed bar with a bunch of cool games. Had a bit of a misunderstanding with the bartender regarding my Arizona license, but thankfully it got resolved. I was afraid I was going to get kicked out! I'm sorry my state makes my license expire in like 2060 haha. I didn't get to try the food but I decided on trying some beer. I believe my bartender gave me the petit sour raspberry and it was great! After I drank my beer I decided to play s
Fantastic Environment, Amazing games, Great staff/owner. Have never had any issues coming here, always a lovely time with friendly anime/gaming likeminded people. Drinks are very affordable and taste amazing The events keep my calendar filled year round The constant food trucks make it an exciting experience each and every time I visit. Love the staff, very friendly and respectful, always a joy to converse with.
Oh man this place is AWESOME! Came here with a friend, and it did not disappoint. Such a great selection of arcade games, a bunch of incredibly unique games I'd never seen in person before. Games are all well maintained and rhythm game volume is loud without being overbearing. Drinks are fun themed ones which taste great and are decently priced. Definitely recommend this to everyone!
It’s a mix of nostalgia and high-energy fun! Many arcades blend retro classics like Pac-Man and pinball with modern VR games, racing simulators, and rhythm challenges — often with music, lights, and a social vibe.
Both can be great! Solo visits let you focus on your favorite games, while going with friends adds competition, teamwork, and laughs. Many people plan arcade meetups as a casual hangout or even date spot.
Usually just yourself and a way to pay (some arcades still use coins, others use cards or apps). If you're competitive, bring your A-game. If you're social, bring friends or meet new ones over multiplayer games.
Weekdays or early afternoons are usually less crowded — perfect for focused play. Evenings and weekends bring the buzz, especially at barcades or venues with DJs, tournaments, or themed nights.
Absolutely! Arcades attract a mix of casual players and serious gamers. Whether you're jumping into a four-player co-op or chatting between rounds, it's a fun, low-pressure way to connect over shared interests.
Not at all. While many arcades are family-friendly, there are also adult-oriented ones with full bars, 18+ nights, or vintage nostalgia themes. Arcades today cater to everyone — from first-timers to lifelong gamers.
Yes! Many arcades host regular competitions, retro nights, cosplay parties, and more. Whether you're into high scores or just want to watch and vibe, events add an extra layer to the experience.
No worries — arcades are about having fun, not being perfect. Try a variety of games, ask others for tips, and remember: the vibe is more “let’s play” than “let’s win.”
