Customer Reviews

I have only done 10 pin bowling so candlestick bowling was fun and unique. Would have loved to have time to finish our 2nd game . It must be another unique feature to pay by the hour and not by games bowled. There was a large group of children there and no fault to the owner as parents were on their phones and not providing proper supervision. Several children were running down the lanes repeatedly and injury from a ball strike was certainly a fear of mine. It was a very fun hour and I will visit again w

Came here for a birthday party for my daughter and what an awesome place. It was very clean with friendly staff and the arcade was very cool. I loved all the retro machines and the pinball. The pizza was even good. Will definitely be coming back as we had a great time. It definitely brings you back to a simpler time coming here.

We hosted a birthday party there for 25 kids. We were supposed to contact the venue 4 days before party to confirm the number of kids. We called close to 10 times and left 3 voicemails, 3 text messages and it took the venue 48 hours to get back to us. During the event, There was only 1 staff member at the whole venue who was trying her best to check-in kids, give them bowling shoes, fix the lanes, setup party room, help kids convert arcade points to goodies. Also, the kitchen was never told about our add

Reserving my lane / shoes online was a snap. Yes, this an "old time" candlepin bowling alley ... but it's nice that it's still a longtime family-run business. Reminded me A LOT of Beverly Bowl-O-Mat in my younger days, which closed years ago (sadly). My boyfriend and I spent a nice afternoon bowling and capturing fun memories of days gone by ??

A different option of entertainment as this experience was new to me. Never heard of candlepin bowling until I visited this location. Went there for a birthday party and was able to have a good time with kids. They served very taste Pizza which was an surprise for me. Good was very decent and I liked it. Kids will love this place as it is easy for them to participate in bowling and they have a small arcade section. Easily we can spend 2 hours here. One drawback is the parking space. Little hard to find.

The Dead Zone Edit: In response to snippy owner, I'm an arcade enthusiast and wanted to see what they had. Stopped in, all rip off modern games, no classics and terrible prizes in the machines. Absolutely a joke to even mention arcade on the sign when it's a terrible "arcade" where half the machines seem to be candy dispensers. I went in middle of a holiday week and at lunch time and it was an absolute ghost town, guess the owner has nothing better to do because there was no one behind the front desk, no

This is the worst bowling alley I have ever been to. It's old and outdated, the staff is incredibly rude, the only positive was the music. We made a reservation and anted to stay longer to bowl a second game. The lady at the desk rudely said she couldn't do that and another game would take too long. There were only 3 other lanes being used and no one looking to come in. So unprofessional and not worth the hassle. Especially since the other girl at the desk came after and told us there was no problem a

Nice little bowling place, we enjoyed it a lot, very sutible for kids but not only. I appreciated the easy online reservation, while in other places its first come first served and i don't really want to go and wait in line with little kids. Worth the extra drive for sure. The only negative is that there isn't much variety of food, only pizza, and as a diabetic person i had nothing to eat, but that's ok, not a big deal. We will definitely come back.

Had an amazing experience for our child's 4th bday party. Easy to book online. Way affordable compared to what other places charge to get way less. Great communication from staff. We got 1 hour of bowling, the pizza and lemonade in the party room and Arcade cards. The kids had an absolute blast and the staff was fantastic. Loved that they also supplied all the cutlery and plates. They made everything so easy!

We stopped in during drive home looking for a pinball break while we had lunch, and definitely weren't disappointed. Half dozen machines of various vintage, all well maintained, enabling exceptional play. Games include South Park, Terminator, Pirates of the Caribbean, Ripley's Believe it or Not, and NASCAR. Add a tasty burger and fries, plus cold beer at very reasonable price, and this became a total home run. Additional food options (pizza, chicken), bowling, and a video game section at other end of buildi

Horribly rude staff. My wife and I were rushed out before our session expired and were yelled at to leave yesterday while with our two 4 year olds that wanted to play. I do not recommend such rude and unaccommodational staff.

I can't comment on the facilities or service since I haven't been there in over 20 years, but I reserved and prepaid for a lane last night for today. This morning, shortly after they opened, I called to adjust my reservation to a later time. After multiple attempts without reaching anyone, I left a voicemail. I called again later, but still couldn't get through. The outgoing message suggested texting, which I did twice at different times during the day, but I received no response. According to Google, the

It's good for what it is. The employees were nice, made sure we were having fun. You get an hour on the lanes, which equates to two rounds depending on how many people you have in your group. They have a bar and pineball machines you can play while waiting for your lane. A small arcade is located on the far right side. They have a lot of kids birthday parties on the weekends, but they seemed to keep those to one side and let's other use the other side. 16 lanes in total. Parking out side was plentiful. They

Loved bowling here. First time tonight and it's like a hidden gem. It's aged but in a very good way. I plan to go back with my kids. I know they will have a fun time and very inexpensive ??

This was a great outing, close to home, for us to break out of the mold! It was a nice quiet atmosphere on a cold rainy day. We had no idea what we were doing but we had a good time. The reservation process was easy and I feel the wait time at the counter was fair for a Saturday afternoon. We might even come back after breaking ourselves in ??

Perfect classic candlepin bowling joint! Love the atmosphere, nice sized arcade, and a great spot to sit down and get something to eat (or drink - there's a good selection of beer).

Awesome place. The staff is super nice and the games are really fun. A++

It's candlepin bowling and a small attached arcade. Everything is fine, maybe a little old. The balls have divots the lanes aren't quite flat. The video games are a little expensive and the card system isn't reliable (it ate a $5 load but with no staff around it wasn't worth dealing with). But bowling is fun! And it made a fun birthday party! And they tolerated my 14yo and her friends which is more than can be said for her parents. Ahem.

Had my daughters birthday party here and was not impressed. The party that was in the room I had reserved for our party time was just hanging out in there doing there own thing. The staff did nothing to move them out of the room which meant all my guests had nowhere to go or put their stuff. The lady at the counter was super rude and told me I wouldn't have the option of adding anymore kids to the names on the lanes. I asked for another lane for the adults in our party and she told me no, that was not an op

Kids sized bowling place ? kids sized balls, everyone gets THREE chances to bowl, and they have shoes and a stand for coats. Cute but def not challenging for an adult. They also have an arcade with a nice amount of games, ride on rides for ages 2 and up and more. Price can add up but that's to be expected. A good place to go with a group and owners really understand that little kids are difficult and have set expectations at a reasonable level.

We always have a good time with the kids when we go here. It is a fun, inexpensive date night with the kids and their friends. Arcade is good and reasonably priced too. If you like classic, nostalgic bowladrome fun, this place has it.

Ima keep it a buck, the pizza is lowkey fire ?? and if you are driving by you need to stop just for the pizza. The lady working is super nice, and the atmosphere is extremely lively. A good place to hang with friends and grab a beer! Bowling was fun, except for this child that was hogging all of the balls to himself. Parents didn't care. The arcade was so dead but so cool. I played 30 minutes in the arcade and won a blow pop. Kind of a waste of time but it was fun. I will be returning ??

1st time we have done Candle Pin bowling. The staff was very friendly and even took the picture of all us holding the pin and ball

The staff is the best!! So friendly, attentive, and helpful. The girls I babysit always have the best time here, especially at the arcade. They love redeeming their points for prizes. I recommend coming here

We had a birthday party for 20 kids and their parents, and let me tell you- we all had a blast! Josh and his team made the whole process easy. Private party room, and automated candle pin bowling. They do the decorating, the cooking, and provide all you need for entertainment (cosmic bowling under the black lights with music, and so many arcade games). They even had balloons and goodie bags for the kids! One stop shopping and so reasonably priced. We would book another party here in a heartbeat. Also- the p

Poor guy at the counter was the only employee managing things and needed more help. Advance online reservations made things much easier though! Prices were a bit steep IMO though - haven't bowled in a long time so maybe $38/hour is standard (plus 3.50 pp for shoes)??

Had a birthday gathering for a teen there. Excellent service and strangely really tasty pizza. I wasn't expecting much but I would go back for the pizza alone. The lanes were easy to use and the kids all had a great time bowling and playing in the arcade.

The bowladrome is a perfect rainy day activity. Our kids (2 and 6) both had a great time bowling with the small balls and the bumpers! Then we had a large pretzel and spent time in the arcade. It's pretty expensive though, IMO. We spent $50 for a single round of candlepon bowling, $8 for pretzel and then $25 at arcade which we blew through in about 20 min. Still a fun time but could use some upgrades and staff could be a little more friendly.

Friendly family run service. Very layed back and courteous: we arrived 15 min late and got free overtime. - Be careful: very small bowls, no holes for fingers, what we expected from our experience in Europe. - Shoes for free, clean and in good condition. We have enjoyed the evening!

Fun place, kids arcade, pinball, beer & food.

I went here with my fianc?e on a Saturday night and had the best time. I am not from the area, but my fianc?e recommended it because she has been going there since she was a kid. We both loved the place and had so much fun! All staff were so friendly and kind. We played 5 games, got pizza, beer, and played in the arcade- the place was too good to not experience everything. It is reasonably priced which I really appreciate, that is so hard to find these days. Will definitely be going back. Thank you for such

I have been here a couple times in my life, it's good for what it is, it's a relatively small bowling alley compared to other places, has 16 lanes of bowling and more often than not it's fun doing a couple rounds of bowling, the automatic scoring technology isn't the best, there have been multiple times where it has not counted pins that have been knocked over, and other times where it flat out makes up how many pins you actually knock down. The food is decent, nothing to write home about but you won't get

I brought my family here for a fun day. We all had a blast bowling, the arcade was awesome with a great variety of new and old games, the pizza was really good, and I was happily surprised that they had some really good beer on tap! I don't understand any negative reviews about this place because everything is set up nicely for you or your family to have a lot of fun. Don't hesitate to come to this gem!!!

This place is the best! They have the small balls, which I prefer because they're easier to control. Check out the arcade!!! Super cheap and retro games!!! They have air hockey and Mario kart to name a few of my favorites! Child bumpers are available but not to be abused and not to be used like walls. No masks necessary. Nice country environment and vibe.

Pathetic, really sad. Dark, damp, and depressing. Maybe 50 years ago when their father opened this entertainment place it was nice, but now the two brothers are running it to the ground. Both have run away from their responsibilities and dads prized investment (to Montana?), and it shows. Nobody there, lights off, no power to arcade, same look and smells as from the 80's but not in a good way. Too bad because there are so few candlestick bowling places left. Will not be surprised when this place is bulldoze

Love this place to pieces. I've seen reviews of stuff not working and staff being rude and my girlfriend and I had none of that on the Intergalactic Bowling night and don't see how that could be, anyway. Some of the nicest people work here and sure, some of the equipment acts up here and there but for $20 for two people, rentals included we couldn't be happier. We definitely anticipate and look forward to coming back.

Fun little place to take the kids. Went on a Sunday and the employees were 1/2 asleep, very ho-hum...but the kids had fun.

What a great bowling alley! Fantastic customer service and awesome lanes, it's been a long time since I've enjoyed a 10 pin lane this much.

We took our son here for his 4th birthday party. Everyone had a great time (kids were 18 months-4 yrs). The staff did a wonderful job organizing and setting up the things we brought. The party package came with 5$ in the game room. The game room money lasted just long enough before the kids got ancy. I was also surprised at the pizza. I had never eaten there before, and it was much better than I expected. Good ice cream cake too. Great job guys! Highly reccomended.

My wife and I chose Acton Bowladrome for our son?s 11th birthday party. Ty (the manager) and Jeanette were very attentive, cordial and did a fantastic job! We had an hour of bowling, pizza and arcade cards. The pizza was delicious and everyone had a great time! 5 stars.

We booked the place for a holiday party and weren't disappointed. The owners/employees were kind enough to let us stay later due to earlier plans and enjoy the place to ourselves. The beer was flowing the balls were rolling and everyone was having a grand time. I felt bad for the employee that had to endure us, but I would like to personally thank her as she put on a smile even though she probably just wanted to go home. Thank you.

I attended a 23Jan elementary school PTO event: "Bowling (2 hours), shoe rental and unlimited arcade games, pizza, drinks and ice cream are all included in your ticket price" was listed on the flier. Our event began at 5pm. At 5:20pm, the organizer asked for arcade cards. A staffer said that arcade cards were not included for the event. A call to the owner and ~ 25 minutes later, arcade cards began to appear. My children got their arcade cards at 5:57pm. At ~5:30pm, I asked a staffer for pizza. I wa

We had a blast. Candle pin bowling was easy for the kids in our party. The arcade room was kitschy and a fun time to spend half an hour moving among the games. We'll definitely be back.

I grew up going to the Bowladrome during my School Days. Eventually , joining leagues. Even had fun and won money at the Rock and Bowl with Mike Morin. The Sundbergs along with their sons did a great job there. Food was great. Classic games to play. I moved to Australia in 2015. Made a return after my mum passed in 2018. Place still looked great back then. Great to see its still rollin'.

Totally decent~ Family run, keeping candlepin alive. Wish it were cheaper, but whatever it takes to survive. Good vibes. Slim on a Tuesday night. Completely random alley balls. Alley seems straight enough, though it looks newer and maybe thinner than what I'm used to? When the ball hits, it's a loud clack-y sound rather than a muted thud sound. Everything sounds like a lob, and every lob has me cringing lol. Electronic scoring is a good time, except where I would have bumped my score from 75 to 76 if

Nice place but I lot of lighting

This is a wonderful place with a bit of everything! Candlepin bowling is great, although it definitely takes some getting used to. Their arcade includes Namco's Quick and Crash (super cool!) and Guitar Hero, as well as classics like Skeeball. They also have an assortment of pinball machines! Everything is very clean and well maintained and the owner is absolutely lovely as well. He's very nice and will help out with anything asked. This is a great place for family, a group of friends, or a cute date!

This was my first time trying candlepin bowling, and while it took me a while to get the hang of it, I had a great time. The balls and pins are smaller than tenpin bowling, which I actually prefer. The staff took good care of us. They even had nylons for sale for folks who came wearing sandals. This was a great way to spend part of a rainy afternoon. We'll be back the next time we're in the area.

Old school bowling alley for candle pin bowling. Thursday nights are busy due to league games. They have a bar and vending machines. You may have to wait for assistance at the front desk as they only have 1 person who isn't always there. Fun place to bowl with a group of friends.

This is a small town vintage candle pin alley with a lot of personality and a bonus. It not only has a child's arcade with all the usual ticket-generating 'chuck-e-cheese' style games, it also boasts a classic arcade with well preserved working relics from the early 80's including Donkey Kong, Asteroids, Tapper, and more. This place feels like it's from a bygone era, but with modern updates, and is an oasis of sorts in an large suburban area that has little if any other entertainment or recreational venues.

The Bowladrome is such a fun place, we've been coming here for more than 15 years. We've hosted many birthday bowling parties for our kids and have never been dissatisfied! I just took my two youngest for a Sunday afternoon of bowling and now with their online lane reservation system it was even easier to hit the lane and start bowling... We will be back and soon!

Had a good experience bowling but we were told we had an hour and 15 minutes to bowl (2:45-4). We stopped bowling at 4 to do the right thing and waited for 15 minutes to pay behind a long line. When we got to the register, we were told that we had to pay the price for 1.5 hours of bowling and when I mentioned that we only bowled for an hour and 15 minutes, we were rudely told to pay the price for 1.5 hours. Disappointed in the service and the fact that we spent money for time we weren't bowling. We were ask

Place is a sweat box, lady at the front wasn't welcoming and they don't open the kitchen during the week (which makes sense). Candlestick bowling is fun but half way through our first game we were dying for air. Not a great experience and not a welcoming place.

Family friendly. Took my granddaughter to play the arcade and bowling. A lot of fun.

Nice candlepin lanes, if a bit rugged. Nice game room. Could use a bit of TLC but it's still worth the trip with friends or family. Serves food sometimes, and serves beer. Oh, and they have about 10 pinball machines, which was a pleasant surprise.

A great place and great staff. We stopped by on a gray Columbus Day and had a ball. For a bunch of candle pin neophytes from New Jersey it was great introduction to "normal" bowling's exotic New England cousin. We will be back.

We came for pinball. One machine when website says nice barroom with a bunch of machines. They were rude and it was shabby and dirty.

It has not changed in the 20 years since I last went. Had fun playing.

We went today for open play. Since we didnt make reservations, we had to wait...but the arcade area was enjoyed! The staff was very helpful in getting our lanes set up. We did have some IT issues for the second game but they stuck to solving the problem. It was a fun last minute outing.

Good place to being the kids. Typical classic candle pin bowling alley. The attached restaurant used to be good, but now it's all pre-prepared reheated food. Cleanliness is typical for an old bowling alley.

Pricing is high for one hour of bowling. Ceiling tiles are missing pieces and bowling screens not working properly. Games are hit or miss. If I wanted a dive bar experience then I should get dive bar prices.

Wow this was FUN. Bowling I didn't do well but I sure had fun here. Try bowling if you haven't done it for a while or never tried. ENJOY BOWLING it's a lot of fun. Go now Well what are you waiting for. Bowling thank you for being opened and letting us have FUN.

My sister held a birthday party here. Bad experience. The all you can play card didn't work half the time. The lady there came over and grouchily told us to swipe it more times, but it still didn't work. The worst issue with this bowladrome is it's terrible customer service. Both workers, an older lady and a man repeatedly looked extremely pissed off whenever we asked a question. Would not reccomend.

Small candle pin with a kid oriented arcade. We had a child?s birthday party and it went very well. Staff were very helpful.

This bowling alley was a lot better than I expected. This place has 16 lanes and a huge arcade area. Place is up with the times and very clean. Owner was very nice as well.

A staple of acton and a perfect place for some candlepin bowling. The arcade is great and they have an old style diner with classic pinball machines in great condition. The staff is warm and eager to help so if you have some time you should totally go.

The bowling alley part of the Drone is nicely updated with electronic scoring. The woman at the counter was very helpful explaining the system to me. There are also nice accommodations for those that need help bowling, e.g. bumpers and another mechanism to help aim the ball. The arcade was a little run down and not all games worked, but it was still fun.

Pretty run-down alley. Shoes were clean and fairly new. My lane (10) was visibly warped, and the guide slide for really little kids was comically bent (on all three axes!). Worse still, someone had tried to weld it back together, making it worse. When I asked if there was another one that wasn't bent, the manager shrugged and muttered something about finding another one... but needless to say, she didn't even attempt to do so. $24 for a game on a warped lane? Lol. Adjoining arcade was good, mostly priced

I used to love going to this place when I was a kid, so I was excited to come back for the first time in over 10 years. Boy has this place gone downhill. The staff was rude and the building was dilapidated. Prices were cheap but you get what you pay for I guess.

Good place for a quick round or two of candlepin bowling. Great little arcade with half-price games on Thursday afternoons. Service isn't great; usually have to go looking for someone to help.

Great vibe. Awesome place for kids and adults. They have leagues to on different days of the week of you are looking for a fun community to get involved in! The owner is PHENOMENAL. this is my go to place for a night out

I wore the shoes for just two games and my feet stink hours later. They were disgusting! Also I saw reviews about $1 Wednesday games. We went on Wednesday and asked about the discount and were immediately laughed at. I don't care if you discontinued the promotion, don't make me feel like an ass for asking about it. Poor customer service and gross shoes means I won't be coming back anytime soon.

Would give them zero stars if I could. I picked up a quarter from the floor by the pinball machines and the owner began to shout at me, claiming that I "stole" it. They get super mad at you if you find a free pinball game, and hate it when I tilt. Nasty staff. Do not spend your money at this establishment.

Bowling is still great. Prizes have gone downhill. Many arcade games are broken. Food from the grill is great. No ice cream floats, anymore. REAL pinball machines in the restaurant section!

Place sucks they charge 54 dollars for three rounds three people. Awful service. Manager dressed in normal clothes. Ball machine does not work the balls get stuck in lane when they come back. Pins are not picked up after a throw so they are are in the way and ruin the game. Hate this place DONT come here it is awful. Lady at front counter is a brat she has an awful attitude and never helps anyone and is always on her phone...... NEVER COME

This place should be shut down permanently....I don't know if the older lady is the owner or just an employee but she was so incredibly rude and made our 3 year old little girl cry her way out of this place. Thinking of something to do on a Saturday night we decided to go to this place for our little one to play games and pick out a toy at the end which is what a 3 year old really wants at the end of the day. After 2 hours in this place We spent $40 total trying to get enough to get the toy she wanted. Bad

Fun to spend a couple of hours here with the kids. A bit old looking, but clean and quiet (on a Sunday afternoon). The arcade prices were very reasonable too.

Amazing time Had my son's 8th birthday party here Staff is awesome and very friendly and welcoming Place is clean and in great shape Not bad prices 10 kids all the works and 2 extra pizzas all inclusive birthday party everything was taken care of just had to show up $300 is not bad at all Highly recommended!!!

Took my grand son bowling. The place was spotless, owner went out of his to make sure we had a great time. The alley s were in perfect condition.

This place is truly awful. The owner is unresponsive when we asked for some help getting started bowling. The staff is often rude to clients, the food and drinks are terrible, and bowling and the games are obscenely over-priced. Take your money and have fun elsewhere!

Cheesy bit of fun but they do a nice kids party. The young kids love it as they can bowl with small balls and then hit the arcades after with a good range of games for all ages.

They charged $54 for 3 games. Some other people came in and payed $32 for 1 game. That is outrageous! There are likely not enough customers to have a low price. I understand why nobody goes here.

It was a bit crazy. We where there for a party and they were not ready for us. Once things got rolling it was smooth. Either way the kids had a blast

Amazing customer service! Food is delicious its an overall great place to spend time with your family! 100/10 recommend! Will be coming back.

Place is great. Real good selection of pinball machines, and arcade games including Quick & Crash! Can't wait to visit again.

My children love this place and I do too. I hope they are there for generations to come. The people that work there and own it are wonderful!

Fav place for candlestick bowling. With fewer staff comparing to other places - the service is fast and awesome. Just make sure to check the schedule - leagues play often.

Never been just thought the replies were funny

Frequently Asked Questions

What’s it like visiting an arcade today?

It’s a mix of nostalgia and high-energy fun! Many arcades blend retro classics like Pac-Man and pinball with modern VR games, racing simulators, and rhythm challenges — often with music, lights, and a social vibe.

Is it better to go alone or with friends?

Both can be great! Solo visits let you focus on your favorite games, while going with friends adds competition, teamwork, and laughs. Many people plan arcade meetups as a casual hangout or even date spot.

What should I bring to an arcade?

Usually just yourself and a way to pay (some arcades still use coins, others use cards or apps). If you're competitive, bring your A-game. If you're social, bring friends or meet new ones over multiplayer games.

What’s the best time to visit an arcade?

Weekdays or early afternoons are usually less crowded — perfect for focused play. Evenings and weekends bring the buzz, especially at barcades or venues with DJs, tournaments, or themed nights.

Can I meet new people at arcades?

Absolutely! Arcades attract a mix of casual players and serious gamers. Whether you're jumping into a four-player co-op or chatting between rounds, it's a fun, low-pressure way to connect over shared interests.

Are arcades still just for kids?

Not at all. While many arcades are family-friendly, there are also adult-oriented ones with full bars, 18+ nights, or vintage nostalgia themes. Arcades today cater to everyone — from first-timers to lifelong gamers.

Are there events or tournaments I can join?

Yes! Many arcades host regular competitions, retro nights, cosplay parties, and more. Whether you're into high scores or just want to watch and vibe, events add an extra layer to the experience.

What if I’m not great at arcade games?
