Customer Reviews

This place was fun for what it is. My girl played duck hunt because that is her favorite game. I tried out all the games I remembered from childhood. I would have this place as my go to when needing to relax or take out some steam from Mortal Kombat. Thank you 2 player Arcade!!

Thank you very much to Myles and Katie! 2 Player fixed my new 3DS XL top screen in under a week, bought my donor 3DS XL, and shipped my system and it literally arrived next day! I highly recommend getting your vintage repairs and games at 2 Player! (Not to mention, but I also got a great deal on a beautiful Red Gameboy Pocket as well! -Zack S.

Miles did a wonderful job repairing my old PS3. Not only did he work with a local to me San Jose shop for drop off and pickup, but he was quick with turnaround and very fair with pricing. Highly recommend this shop !

Went here on a Saturday afternoon with my family (2 boys, 12 and 15, and my wife) and had a blast! Super affordable and the staff was extremely nice. So many fun games to play! It was also very clean, and all the controllers worked. I highly recommend a visit. 1 hour wasn't enough, but we had other plans. Will definitely be back next time we're in Monterey. Wish I could give more than 5 stars!

Had a fun time stopping through this arcade. Notable amount of options, both with actual arcade cabinets, as well as a litany of consoles and available games to pick from. Cool retro TVs to play on as well. Owner was fun and knowledgeable, and I enjoyed the 80?s/Japanese City Pop/Jazz Fusion playlist. Also very fairly priced soft drinks/water, probably best deal in the area. Great way to chill for an hour or more in Monterey!

Basically my heaven on Earth. Beyond friendly owners, amazing selection (Outrun and MvSF my beloved). A must visit every time I'm in Monterey.

Really neat place. The owner was very nice. Small but great selection of arcade games but the real gem here is the console gaming. They have an N 64, a super NES, a sega and much more with a variety of games for each console. Plus wonderful table top games and snacks. Definitely drop in if you're a gamer!

The nicest people run this place, with the coolest, retro video games! From Donkey Kong, to Galaga (many hours in my younger days spent on this :), Space Invaders and many, many more! If you're in the neighborhood, I highly recommend to drop in, as you don't be disappointed!

They helped me fix my destroyed 2ds xl and was super affordable. Great people with great drive and customer service. Highly trustworthy and will be bringing my business here from here on out

brought my DS lite in for a screen repair and it is awesome now! the owner is very kind and responsive. definitely recommend

We stopped in here on one of nights of vacation and are so glad we did! It was a great way to chill for an hour. We had a lot of fun and would definitely go again :)

Literally how did they fit so many kinds of Ames into that small of a space. Incredible in terms of value and experience. Wish the board game library was larger.

Myles and Katie are the best -- they're super pleasant, and the arcade space is wonderful! So many fun games to play. Also they do great work on repairs -- Myles is super communicative about what he's going to do and what your options are. Myles repaired a PS3 controller and a Switch Pro Controller for me and did a fantastic job on it -- at a super fair price! 2 Player Arcade Shop is amazing and we're so lucky they're around.

The best arcade I've been to because of how many options they had and because we also had access to board games!

Throw back 90's video games and more to current games. Can play all day for super cheap, snacks board gams, gamer gear and collectibles. Best family spot for gaming!

First time I came here and the cashier was nice and also I like how you can purchased used or refurbished accessories, games and consoles!

Give this place your business! :) ?Cool staff ?Affordable ?Chill vibes

A great little retro arcade and hangout spot. There are older game consoles and board games to play too. There is even an extra room to play the board games or host dungeons and dragons campaigns. The location also offers awesome console and handheld modifications and/or repairs. If you are looking for a hangout spot or a place to chill for a couple hours, I highly recommend this new arcade shop. A fantastic place to play all the old games you grew up with in the 90's~2000's!

I've only been here once but the owners were so lovely and it was such a great experience I must give it 5 stars. Awesome collection of games and a lot of fun. It's like the friends basement you always wanted. ??

We were pleasantly surprised we found this place & enjoyed our time there! The retro arcade games are fun but They also offer some boardgaming space too, with a small collection of boardgames to choose from. Problably cud bring a few of our own to Play there. Owner is very friendly n nice. Would definitely return there if when ever in the area again (live in Stockton, CA)

Awesome place for retro arcade and console games. Nice for a pop in or check out one of their events. Really enjoyed the table top night! Can't wait for another!

One of the few places you can enjoy retro games with a mix of arcade machines and consoles. The atmosphere is great, loving the decorations and the vibe of the whole place. Low price to game as long as you want and they also do repairs in the back! Excited to see this place grow, it's really worth checking out.

This place is rad!!!! Unlimited play for $8 an hour is so worth it. So many different games and classic consoles to play(even classic tvs). The decore is beyond perfect. My 80s kidself was so happy. It's a gem!!!!

Cool little place. Walked by it quite a few times, and finally happened to stop by today with a buddy of mine. Lately all I've really been playing is Fortnite and a few other games on my PC, but it was pretty sweet to relive some of the classics in here. There was Metal Slug on the arcades, X-Men vs Street Fighter, a handful of others. They also have quite a few older consoles, Sega Genesis, N64, XBOX, Gamecube, probably others as well. Well worth visiting if you're in the area and are into more retro games

I went there on a trip to Monterey and picked up an nes for a steal. The staff there were super friendly and knowledgeable. The prices are great, will visit again

Great selection of arcade games. Amazing atmosphere plus they offer an assortment of repairs. Shout out to the homie Myles

My 14 yr old loved the place

Awesome collection of classic games.

Frequently Asked Questions

What’s it like visiting an arcade today?

It’s a mix of nostalgia and high-energy fun! Many arcades blend retro classics like Pac-Man and pinball with modern VR games, racing simulators, and rhythm challenges — often with music, lights, and a social vibe.

Is it better to go alone or with friends?

Both can be great! Solo visits let you focus on your favorite games, while going with friends adds competition, teamwork, and laughs. Many people plan arcade meetups as a casual hangout or even date spot.

What should I bring to an arcade?

Usually just yourself and a way to pay (some arcades still use coins, others use cards or apps). If you're competitive, bring your A-game. If you're social, bring friends or meet new ones over multiplayer games.

What’s the best time to visit an arcade?

Weekdays or early afternoons are usually less crowded — perfect for focused play. Evenings and weekends bring the buzz, especially at barcades or venues with DJs, tournaments, or themed nights.

Can I meet new people at arcades?

Absolutely! Arcades attract a mix of casual players and serious gamers. Whether you're jumping into a four-player co-op or chatting between rounds, it's a fun, low-pressure way to connect over shared interests.

Are arcades still just for kids?

Not at all. While many arcades are family-friendly, there are also adult-oriented ones with full bars, 18+ nights, or vintage nostalgia themes. Arcades today cater to everyone — from first-timers to lifelong gamers.

Are there events or tournaments I can join?

Yes! Many arcades host regular competitions, retro nights, cosplay parties, and more. Whether you're into high scores or just want to watch and vibe, events add an extra layer to the experience.

What if I’m not great at arcade games?

No worries — arcades are about having fun, not being perfect. Try a variety of games, ask others for tips, and remember: the vibe is more “let’s play” than “let’s win.”
