It's always a good time at First Street. Drinks are very reasonably priced and cold, entertainment is mostly on par, and the outdoor area is an amazing touch. Slightly off the beaten path but definitely worth the short walk or golf cart ride to check out.
Always have great time at the First Street Saloon,great service and friendly staff! As a recent newcomer to Madison I find it a great place to meet new people and have a good time! Also,as a local musician I appreciate their support of the local music scene,with live bands,Kareoke and the Wed. night open mike. If I have friends coming in from out of town,this is one of the first places I think of to have them get a feeling of the local flavor!!
This is a great and fun little bar. All the bartenders and both owners are great. It's my go to spot to hang out. They always have something good happening on the weekend. Definitely have to check it out!
We absolutely love this establishment. We ALWAYS make it our #1 stop when coming to Madison. Whether it's a night out or a birthday celebration, these ladies are outstanding in making it a wonderful night. Every weekend is different entertainment & crowd.
Too bad this bar is run by a couple of gossipy women! A nice little bar but the bartenders gossip about their patrons to the extent that they are not opposed to spreading rumors and home wrecking... They also post photos of people on Facebook without permission. Here's a tip: mind your own business while running your business! UPDATE: nope, def not a former employee but it'd be an easy way to affirm what is detailed in my original review if they shared their experience! As a matter of fact, I don't know

Cool little dive bar with good music, affordable drinks and friendly faces. Stopped here while on a motorcycle trip in Madison. They had karaoke and and live music that weekend. Would definitely recommend to anyone passing through town.

Loved the casual atmosphere of this bar. It's non-smoking inside, the air conditioning works great, my bartender was very personable on my last visit. I was here on a quieter day though so results may vary for those busier times.

We dropped into town for about a month in the RV and found ourselves here quite a bit. I love this place! The bartenders, especially James, has been so friendly and welcoming. We've enjoyed drinks and darts! This place has darts, pool, and pull tabs. And great prices!
Fast friendly service in a laid-back atmosphere. The one-man entertainment the weekend we were there was outstanding. He did request from the Eagles to Bob Seger. The food was served quickly the waitresses Were efficient and prompt. We will definitely be back.
Went last night for karaoke. First time customer. Had a blast! I got a little obnoxious (I'm sorry) because they slowed down how much they would serve me. It was definitely the right call ladies!
I always feel a little cramped an first street but the place is set up nice. Clean pool table. Smoking indoors approved. The bartender, caught no name, was wonderfully sweet. Typically, the quote "you are the company you keep." The people in there never fight when I go. Variety in music play. And fun memories.
Decent bar. Reasonable drink prices. The crowd is usually a fun, relaxed crowd. I have had a few unpleasant encounters with staff, but I still recommend this bar over others in Madison.
Apparently Miss Debby the owner of the 1st Street Saloon likes to point fingers and ban people without solid evidence. Now, I'll be the first to say it's her business and she has the right to deny service for any reason she sees fit. However, she is not untouchable by criticism. At first she told this man "we saw you on the cameras" then it quickly went to "I have it on good source" so let me ask you as potential patrons, what's keeping her from blaming you next time you come to her establishment? Tucked back from Main Street but in a quieter part of downtown Madison. Decent selection of drinks. It's a plus that they constantly play music unlike some other bars in Madison. It's smoker friendly which can be a pro or con.
Staff was very friendly & accommodating. Clean, interesting decor. Attended karaoke there last night, had a good time.
Good place to watch a band, play pool. They have an outdoor patio with corn hole boards during warm weather

If you like dive bars, you'll love it here. (I love dive bars) Only negative, which is a big one personally, is that you can smoke inside.

My favorite place to go have a drink. My friend and I meet up here occasionally to visit early in the evening when it's fairly quiet. It's clean and the owner is a jewel.
Vicky was wrkn she always fun to talk to and then newly wed mrs Tianna came in to cover the night shift and shes really a sweet heart lindsey really had some cool friends so great full to have met her its always cool to meet peoples as crazy as myself lol
If I could leave negative stars I would. Bartender wouldn't serve us after checking our ID?s. Threw a friends ID back at her and told us we weren't over 21. Bartender should be fired for how unprofessional and rude she was. Making a report to excise.

Just don't put your money in the juke box on the wall. No one wants to pay for a song. see it qued to play, then 2 songs later its deleted.

I walked in and this place was dark dingy and very dirty. I guess it was a slow night because the attitudes were just bad I didn't stay long I got up and walked out
