I came here for the first time with my mother and brother. They card you at the door. Pinball machines and retro arcade games are everywhere. Pinball is $1 and everything else is free. They have a change machine and ATM. The giant slide was fun to go down and the Game Over drink was decent but not very strong. You get to keep the cup as a souvenir. Fire pits are outside and chairs to sit in. Upstairs is another bar and comfortable sofas and some games with the slide access. In the back there are video gam
Very hip and nostalgic arcade. Full bar with happy hour. Good prices. Games are free, 21 and up, which is also nice. There is skee ball, a lounge area with big screen TVs playing old music videos. Good place to play games or chill for the night. They even have a slide! Friendly service.
This place is outstanding! We were in Indy for the weekend looking for some fun and this place nailed it. There are tons of pinball machines which are $1 to play, but every other game there is free! There are probably 30+ free play machines. From Miss PacMan to Mortal Combat, original donkey Kong, space invaders, racing games they really have everything. And enough of them so there weren't any lines. On top of the arcade machines they also have NESS, Super Nintendo, and SEGA systems set up with all of the
Very cool bar with a lot of free games available to play. During game days it can be crowded. Pricey drinks but nothing too crazy
In Town for a conference, our vendor had a closed party at 16-Bit, what a great place, takes every Gen-X're back to their teens and 20's. Great service and an awesome craft beer selection on tap. Love the Neon Signs too.
They have lots of great options for games including skee-ball and ring tossing upstairs beyond just arcade games. The outdoor seating is nice and comfortable. I have been on a few occasions, and their mocktails for Dry January were creative and delicious. Their summer drinks right now are similarly unique. I would recommend going here for a group outing, but my husband and I enjoyed it as a stop for our date night on our anniversary.
This place has a great vibe, even if the bar service is a little slow. Plenty of games to keep you occupied while you wait. The music is good and the crowd seems friendly. Definitely worth checking out if you're looking for a chill spot. Just be prepared to spend some time waiting for your drink.
I recently visited 16-Bit and had an amazing time! The atmosphere was a perfect blend of nostalgic and modern, with a wide variety of classic arcade games and pinball machines. The staff was super friendly and bartenders were attentive. The drink menu was diverse, featuring a good mix of craft beers & cocktails. I particularly enjoyed the Hulk Hogan, which was expertly crafted. The bomb pop makes it so good & it's refreshing. I also recommend the Game Over drink. The prices were reasonable, and they even h
This place was a welcome surprise! We will definitely be returning! Morgan and Leo were awesome bartenders and made sure we were taken care of. Ive also never been to an arcade bar where all the games were free to play. The only games you pay to play are the classic pinball machines and they don't even keep the money - it goes to the Ronald McDonald house. So sit back, drink tons, and play until your hearts content. We definitely stayed well past what we were expecting.
This place was so much fun to hang out with friends! Their retro arcade games are free to play and they're pinball machines are $1 each. They even had console areas that you could play Nintendo and Sega & PlayStation games. The bartenders were absolutely awesome and so much fun to talk to. Everyone I met was really inviting and really made the atmosphere a lot of fun. I will absolutely be bringing people back here!
Great, nostalgic spot. Wide selection of games that are mostly free (with the exception of pinball). Lots of great options to play both solo and with friends. Good drink selection with fun pop culture-based naming. Even has a slide! I am not a huge bar person but this is one of the few I really enjoy.
I normally would give a 5?? bc I have always had an amazing time here but on this visit the bouncer was immediately over complementary to me and my friends (I am currently in an ankle boot which will play in later). After making a slightly uncomfortable remark when we walked in, he made 2 more remarks to me directly including one about me being a ?slow target?, as well as being crouched over on the stairs as my friends walked up so he could easily see up their dresses, after going to management he has conti
What a fun place! It's the Chuck E. Cheese for adults. Games are on free play, expect for pinball which is $1 a game. Very open inside. There is a fun slide you can take from the upstairs. Highly recommend for any adults looking for something to do in their free time!
So much fun!! Games were free. Pinball only $1. Drinks were great. Loved that it is 21+ only. This place is awesome!
Really cool vibe. Huge space with plenty of free arcade games, two floors, a slide, comfortable seats, friendly service, and a few NA options. There's also paid pinball and events they host. If I loved in Indy, I'd be here pretty often.
If you love old school arcades and NES, SNES and Mega drive videogames, you should definitely go. The best part is that they are FREE to play. They have also a fairly good selection of beers and a nice terrace. Very recommended.
Awesome and FUN place to stop at. I had found this place online before booking my trip to Indy and made sure to stop there while in the area. I LOVED the concept of playing the old arcade games, pinball machines, and ski-ball for FREE while sipping on delicious beers or drinks. The open garage door concept is brilliant in the summer time and nice to be able to sit on the turf just outside the walls. We met some nice people, had fun playing GIANT Jenga and also playing on the HUGE lite brite board! Great pla
What a crazy cool place in downtown Indianapolis! Amazing place to catch a sporting event, play arcade and pinball games, and enjoy a creative variety of special drinks! My experience with each of the staff in my visit was especially personable, and even though 16-Bit has enough flash to stand in its own right with fun drinks and arcade selection, the staff I met shone even brighter. Special shout-out to Taylor for her amazing attentiveness and service and to Nick for offering a ?secret? special cocktail t
Awesome place to check out in Indianapolis. Great staff very friendly and kind. Cool place to play some classic video games and pinball machines for FREE! Grab a drink a bite and rock to some awesome arcade games. It looked to be a popular spot for sure. Definitely going back next time im in town.
Came here for my friends birthday, B is the best bartender ever!! They are so nice and funny. Good music, fun atmosphere, I could see it being a nice place for all different generations. My favorite game was hookie and galaga <3
We went around 3:00pm on a rainy Saturday. Personally I loved it! I've seen some of the reviews of games not working or bartenders ignoring some, but I did not have the same experience. There were signs everywhere to tell staff if a game wasn't working properly and I never waited more than 30 seconds without being assisted by a bartender. In fact they were extremely accommodating volunteering to get me samples of stuff they thought I might like! Great experience for me.
Taylor and Tori were great! They definitely made the experience very enjoyable and we'll be back because of them.
I was there on a Wednesday, which was quiet but I loved this place. The nostalgia is amazing with the games and they have indoor and outdoor areas with cool fire pits. This is totally worth the visit!
I brought my friend here from out of town. Alex, our server, was just incredible and quickly become our new friend. Attentive, quick, and sweet, he served us the entire night and was so slay. I usually don't write reviews ever since my beautiful Yelp account got banned (for undisclosed reasons) but I had to come on here to say that Alex needs a raise IMMEDIATELY!!
Mimi was phenomenal. She was incredibly personable and very friendly. She offered great drink recommendations as well as nearby restaurant recommendations. She is a fabulous employee all-around!
Leo was a great bartender, and was super friendly, thoroughly enjoyed the beer selection, and the game selection was pure nostalgic goodness, complete with a few of the SNES/NES classic consoles.
Came here for a bachelorette weekend stop and it was awesome! The atmosphere was great and the arcade games we awesome. So many pinball machines. I had the drink called the Hulk Hogan and it literally had bomb pop inside it. They had a bunch of TVs as well, and apparently it is dog friendly because there were a couple doggos around. It got very busy but the bartenders we quick and efficient! Great place to stop by!
I really enjoyed this place. If I lived in Indy I could see myself coming here every other week just to have a drink play some games and relax. All the arcade cabinets were free to play and they have quite a selection. I reccomend stopping by just to take an hour or two, order a drink, and play some games.
Place is definitely cool. Has a lot of classic games but needs some more 4-6 player games. They did go all out on their designs, which is awesome. The whole place is like a modern retro bar. Definitely dig it. They have some cool cocktail options as well. Check it out.
B and Taylor were so awesome! The drink I wanted was out of stock so I asked if they could get creative, and they completely nailed it! Some bartenders don't know how to make yummy mocktails or aren't willing to stray from the menu, but these two made a delicious creation on the spot and made me feel so welcome! Thank you, B and Taylor!! ??????
Absolutely loved this place!!! Even went down the slide????
We are not from the area, but we came here because it appeared so dog friendly. Our little Bear had a blast at 16-bit. We were able to cool off inside and play outside. It was a wonderful place for all three of us to spend some time. Would highly recommend to any dog owners and lovers.
The new kid on the block! Love this place! 2 floors lots of space! Drinks with a retro twist perfect for any date night! Bring your fur baby! They are fur baby friendly! Can't wait to go back! High five what a great concept!
If you are into old school video games this is definitely the hangout spot! Has a wide variety of drinks they're named after well known celebrities and it's pretty awesome! The staff is really friendly and cool and also it is dog friendly so you can bring your dog in there to enjoy video games! Wide variety of beer on tap
I'd say half of every game we tried to play didn't work, and having to pay extra for pinball is weird... Otherwise this would be 5 stars. Drinks are awesome and the vibe of the place is really cool. Also love the wall of retro councils. Just maybe work on some of the broken cabinets lol.
Very nice place to chill with friends. They got a lot of fun stuff (Lego, tarts?). The drinks are okay-okay level. But overall the vibe is great.
I loved what I saw but didn't get to interact! 3 stars for now, until I get to go back and give it an honest review. I showed up for my birthday and was super pumped to try out all the cabinets, pinball, and skeeball! Was super curious about the food and drinks..but unfortunately I didn't bring my ID with me and had to leave :((( I'll be back!!!
If you love classic arcade games and your in Indianapolis then you should definitely check this place out. They have a large selection of games and you can play for free if you get a drink. Even if your not into arcade games it would still be a cool place to hang out with friends. They have an outdoor area that would be nice in the summer, I was there in March lol so not so nice outside. Their website does say its a cashless bar, I usually charge things so i didn't find out, but something to be aware of. Ov
Game selection isn't as good as i hoped. Skeeball was fun but cramped upstairs and usually line to play. Beer + slushy drink was $30. Couch area was fun to chill though.
This arcade bar is amazing. We are visiting from out of town and wish we had something like this near us. Lots of great games, unique drinks, and only a dollar for the pinball machines. Such a fun place
Great place to go for drinks and fun! Soooo many games to offer. They do not serve food, but the Tapp is right down the road and you can bring the food inside and eat.
16 Bit is a Arcade style gaming bar located at E NY street in downtown. As it's right at downtown so parking is either street or near by parking garage. This place is a great place and will bring your childhood memories back.they have a huge open style bar area with dedicated 2 floors of seating and unlimited arcade gaming options. Bar servers a full catalog of drinks to choose from and the only downside is that they dont serve food here. I like the staff on the bar as they are friendly and makes your overa
I love this place, watching the pacers game was awesome and Ari was amazing. Will be coming back if she's here.
We went on a Saturday night I believe and it was packed. It's a cool place. Does not serve food but they do have themed mixed drinks that are pretty cool looking. I got the Lisa Frank. They have a upstairs and are dog friendly. It is a pretty cool arcade bar. We will for sure be back.
Excellent hang out fun spot in downtown Indy! My latest visit to 16-Bit with a group of coworkers was a blast for all! Although the bar doesn't serve food, outside food is permitted, and there's more than plenty seats for patrons. Outdoor patio seating is also available with gas firepits for colder days. The beverage menu is mostly local craft beers on tap, and cocktails mostly named after 80s celebrities. A s'mores style cocktail was my choice, which was bold and rich with a touch of sweetness. Barte
Amy and Alex are the best bartenders ever! They were friendly and kind and my drinks were excellent! Because of them, I'll definitely be returning!!
Had a great time! This was my first time and I cant wait to go back! Loved all the games, giant light brite, skee ball, arcade games and one of my faves, super mario 3! The vibe is amazing, drinks are delicious and cleverly named. I just wish that they had a relaxed age limit during the day, my 16 year old would love this place!
Maryam was so nice and welcoming! This place it truly amazing they have good mocktails and the slide was a huge add! Love that most the games are free once your in. ??
Kendall was A M A Z I N G ! I'm visiting from out of town and she made me feel like I was back home in FL. Amazing hospitality even in a crazy Friday night environment. For sure coming back here next Indiana visit!
Space is good for youth and middle aged. Fun, clean, good vibe. Jess is awesome. She greeted with a warm welcome and educated us on the. space
Ariana served me and she was so great. She kept checking in on me and gave really great recommendations. Will definitely be coming back.
Ari was so helpful and attentive! This was my first time going and I'll definitely be back again.
Nice and open layout. However, a lot of the games require some TLC but are still functional. Still fun to go check out for a drink and play some skeeball. If you like this place also look into Tappers and Level Up. Boss Battle Games is also an all-ages option.
Ari was the best server I had! She got me every time I needed a drink
Great place! So many fun things to do with an amazing drink selection. All the games are free plus they have an area where you can sit and play split screen games.
Pretty contemporary/modern feel unlike the Ohio locations. Great place. A lot of room. Great game selections tho I didn't see frogger, defender or NBA Jam. By far the best arcade bar in Indy. Not the best place if you want a nightlife atmosphere but great place for a date or afternoon adventure.
Thank you for the great experience. The whole no cash scenario was a little annoying, but we worked around it.
We had an excellent time hanging out here, awesome selection of retro arcade games and great drinks. Hope to return soon! Btw, the Kenny G is delicious!
It's a great change of pace for those who appreciate retro games like us. Great bartenders and staff! Nice location. Easy Uber to and back from hotels in the city.
16-Bit has been one of my favorite spots in Indy for the past few years! The atmosphere is great and drinks are reasonably priced. Most importantly, the staff is absolutely wonderful. I witnessed a medical emergency happen to a patron last weekend, and staff was quick to respond, remained calm, and knew exactly what to do in the situation. As someone who works in the medical field, this was super impressive to see. I always love coming here for the vibes but seeing how caring, kind, and competent the staff
Haven't been here in awhile and I'm definitely coming back. Brianna served me drinks. She was fast and was very friendly. Definitely will be back soon I need to get her work schedule cause if she's not there I'm leaving!
Such a cool place! Great beer selection and a ton of old school arcade and pinball games. Several comfortable couch areas with big tvs for game watching. Outside has a big patio with jenga and other games. We were stopped by early on a Monday so it was pretty slow and we had our pick of games. They don't serve food onsite. They are very dog friendly! Definitely worth a visit.
Just a really neat place. Very open space which is helpful when it's crowded. Great selection of games and things to do. Plus some great drink and beer options.
We were searching for something to do in Indianapolis while waiting on a concert to start and were so glad we made the choice to check this place out, we loved everything about this place ! The atmosphere is amazing, the decor, the wallpaper
The staff was so great with our private event and I like how they gave everyone wristbands for our bar package so they could easily track but we could still have access to all the games etc.
This place is awesome! Great drink selection, picture worthy cocktails, clean and fun atmosphere, and lots of nostalgia. Even the bathroom stalls are decorated according to 80s movie quotes! Love the pinball, too. They are also dog friendly.
Recommend visiting if you're looking for a fun day or night. Great creative drinks. Very vibey with the signage and the slide is a cool addition. Lots of different games. Really busy on weekends though.
Fun atmosphere; bring your own food over. The microwavable items they have are bit expensive.
This place was one of the coolest bars I've ever been to! Great drinks and all are unique and taste great! The staff was some of the friendliest I've met in a long while! Great array of games to play and all the games are free! Free to get in and you only pay for drinks! Would be an awesome date location! Wish we had one in TN!!!
Great barcade!! The majority of the games are free to play, drinks are delicious, bar tenders are quick and have amazing personalities!
Great place to relax with your friends, including your best friend your dog! They even have disposable dog bowls
Just shy of the fact that 2 of the pinball machine being down and fix it Felix not working I had an absolute blast!! They not only had retro arcade games but skeeball too. Felt like a kid all over again. Will definitely be back!!
Ehh. It's okayyyyyy... It's very now & hip but the games aren't the super popular ones you probably remember as a kid and when you have a stranger over your shoulder breathing in your ear waiting for their turn, it kinda kills the buzz. The drinks on the other hand are F-U-N!! I recommend the cherry slush with Fireball and my date had a Cheech Marin... Also, don't forget to notice the wallpaper when there... It's the BEST part of the whole place!! At least for me.
Being from out of state, I definitely thought there was a catch... but it's just as they say! Buy a beer, play classic arcade games for free! Best experience I had visiting Indy by far!
Cute concept for a bar! All the games are free (i.e don't require tokens or quarters). The drinks are cute! There's a mixture of cocktail options from sweet to tart. You can also get the drinks in a mocktail option.
Ariana is amazing and attentive. I love grabbing drinks from her every time I'm at 16bit!
Kendall is amazing! She made sure we were taken care of all night on 2/21/25z will for sure come back!
Micaela is the BEST bartender, she's always welcoming and radiating the best energy. She's a great addition to the 16-bit family and is always working hard!!
Great arcade bar where all the machines are included except pinball! I think we had the most fun playing with the lightbrite wall. Kudos to our server Leo for recommending great beers and providing friendly service!
Just like many this BarCade was unique in it own was.. Plenty of room to spread out with many of the great classic games we grew up on.. Not to mention the bar has a great selection of drinks.. Do yourself a favor and visit this Barcade..
The free arcade games are great and the atmosphere is super fun. The drinks are very tasty and creative even if they are on the expensive side.
Drinks are kinda expensive, but nonetheless a fun time. Also the most packed or empty bar I feel I've been to
This place is awesome ! The music is amazing , the games are fun and Nick the bartender is the BEST.. kind, professional and made our experience wonderful! This place is really a hidden gem of downtown indy ! My cousin enjoyed her virgin mojito as well !
Fantastic place!!! Go and drink, and you get to play for free as long as you keep on drinking. Soda counts I'm pretty sure too, but they have some amazing and creative cocktails, plus beer for any taste. Shoutout to the gender neutral bathrooms (single stall) as well!
Friendly staff and great drink selection. House made mixed drinks are a must have
A great place to grab a drink. Went here for my birthday and loved it! As a dog lover I was very excited about it being pet friendly and getting to see all the dogs! The staff was amazing and Stevie upstairs was great and took excellent care of us!
Ari as an amazing server!! She made our experience here so seamless and chill! It was super comfortable and easy to get the service needed. I just loved the experience with her!
Kendall is a great bartender. She knows what she was doing and gave Positive Vibes ????????
It’s a mix of nostalgia and high-energy fun! Many arcades blend retro classics like Pac-Man and pinball with modern VR games, racing simulators, and rhythm challenges — often with music, lights, and a social vibe.
Both can be great! Solo visits let you focus on your favorite games, while going with friends adds competition, teamwork, and laughs. Many people plan arcade meetups as a casual hangout or even date spot.
Usually just yourself and a way to pay (some arcades still use coins, others use cards or apps). If you're competitive, bring your A-game. If you're social, bring friends or meet new ones over multiplayer games.
Weekdays or early afternoons are usually less crowded — perfect for focused play. Evenings and weekends bring the buzz, especially at barcades or venues with DJs, tournaments, or themed nights.
Absolutely! Arcades attract a mix of casual players and serious gamers. Whether you're jumping into a four-player co-op or chatting between rounds, it's a fun, low-pressure way to connect over shared interests.
Not at all. While many arcades are family-friendly, there are also adult-oriented ones with full bars, 18+ nights, or vintage nostalgia themes. Arcades today cater to everyone — from first-timers to lifelong gamers.
Yes! Many arcades host regular competitions, retro nights, cosplay parties, and more. Whether you're into high scores or just want to watch and vibe, events add an extra layer to the experience.
No worries — arcades are about having fun, not being perfect. Try a variety of games, ask others for tips, and remember: the vibe is more “let’s play” than “let’s win.”
Yes, pinball tables in arcades remain a blast. Their hands-on, skill-driven gameplay delivers a thrill digital games can’t match, blending nostalgia with modern flair. Newer tables from Stern and Jersey Jack feature LCD screens and themes like Avengers or Stranger Things, keeping things exciting. Arcades are seeing a pinball resurgence with vibrant scenes and tournaments like IFPA events drawing crowds. Though less common than video games, pinball’s tactile charm and community vibe make it a standout arcade experience in 2025.
Absolutely, retro games in arcades remain a thrilling draw in 2025! Classics like Pac-Man, Space Invaders, and Street Fighter II offer simple yet addictive gameplay, blending nostalgia with timeless challenge. Modern arcade cabinets often feature crisp displays and restored controls, enhancing the experience. These games thrive on quick reflexes and strategy, with vibrant pixel art and iconic soundtracks that spark joy. Arcades host tournaments and leaderboards, fostering a lively community. While modern games dominate, retro titles provide a unique, accessible thrill that keeps arcades buzzing.
